Theme: Ignite: the fire within!

Almost every day of our lives, we are on the fence regarding the best decision to make in a given life situation. It could be giving up profits to save the environment, giving up one’s interest for the love of one’s country, or ignoring society’s limitations to chase one’s passion. It could be deciding whether to side on the sidelines or become active citizens.

How do we decide the best time to take action in a specific situation?

Are we moved by values, vision, cultures, goals, fears, or societal/family pressures?

The TEDxFolaOsibo 2022 event is meant to effectively help shape the minds of our attendees, partners, and our lovely community to take charge of their future. Make the best decisions when at crossroads and while building a future-proofed mindset. As many individuals and institutions are yet to recover from the Nigerian economic and social climate, most are yet to grasp what realities to hold on to and what to let go to be able to survive with the numerous changes in today’s world, how do we as humans redefine what we see as enough? Is Enough truly Enough?

Ezeokoli Blessing Chimezie is an ICT Expert with experience in system networks, Web development and Digital Marketing and has consulted for a number of government agencies including Federal Ministry of Environment, NIMC and a host of others. He is the CEO of Buildam Nigeria Limited, a business currently building African largest ecommerce platform for building materials. He is the Co-convener of TakeBackNaija Movement which was founded as political platform for young people to get involved in politics.

David Hundeyin

Writer, Investigative journalist and Broadcaster

I am a writer, investigative journalist and broadcaster whose work has appeared on CNN, The Africa Report, Al Jazeera and The Washington Post. My work as a satirist on 'The Other News,' Nigeria's answer to The Daily Show has featured in the New Yorker Magazine and in the Netflix documentary 'Larry Charles' Dangerous World of Comedy.' In 2018, I was nominated by the US State Department for the 2019 Edward Murrow program for journalists under the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP). In February 2021, I won the People Journalism Prize for Africa 2020 for my work unraveling predatory legislation that was being rushed through Nigeria's House of Representatives.

Lauretta is a Certified Internal Auditor and Chartered Accountant, who built her career as a Risk Manager in less than 7years. She has extensively provided a wide range of Risk Assurance and Consulting services to various clients, in projects which span across Financial Institutions, Insurance Sector, Oil & Gas industry as well as the Telecommunication Industry. Currently a consultant with KPMG Ireland, Lauretta currently leads risk management solutions and gives insights to C-suite management on pressing governance, risk and compliance challenges for global companies.

Sesi Hundeyin

Sesi Hundeyin is a real estate and construction lawyer, author, and speaker with nine years’ experience in private legal practice. Sesi majorly specializes in real estate acquisitions, tenancy matters, administration of estates and real estate dispute resolution. He has successfully advised on high value real estate acquisitions in Lagos and Ogun State, Nigeria from 2017 till date. Sesi is an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association, and the Institute of Construction Industry Arbitrators. He is the author of Linkspiration: Inspiring Stories of LinkedIn Connections, Community, Collaborations and Celebrations, a book published in September 2022 that demonstrates the power of LinkedIn networking. As the founder of Olhms Media, a digital marketing agency, he helps brands thrive in the digital world. Tosin is also an OAP and Podcaster, hosting a show on Yabatech Radio 89.3fm, and has spoken to thousands in person and virtually as a TEDx Trained speaker. He was featured as one of the Top 50 African Influencers by Engati.
