Aliénor Salmon
Aliénor Salmon is a Franco-British author, speaker, and expert on happiness, education and socio-emotional development. After leaving her dream job as a happiness researcher at the UN to follow her dream of learning to dance around the world, she founded Bailando Journey to document her transformational journey and published her memoir ‘Finding Rhythm’ in March 2021. Through her work, she seeks to help others incorporate happiness science into their daily life and work by exploring their values, habits and beliefs, and creating a roadmap to design a life of fulfilment, meaning and purpose.
Amy Williams
Amy Williams MBE OLY is an Olympic gold medallist, speaker, TV presenter, personal trainer and mum. At her debut Winter Olympic Games in 2010, Amy claimed Team GB’s only gold medal of the games in skeleton. In winning gold, she became Britain’s first solo Winter Olympics champion in 30 years and the first female individual Gold Medallist for 58 years. After retiring in 2012, Amy has presented on BBC’s Ski Sunday, BBC Sport and the Eurosport commentary team for their coverage at the Sochi 2014, PyeongChang 2018, and Tokyo 2022 Olympics. She presented the Gadget Show for 3 years, trying out crazy gadgets and inventions. Now a mum to two boys, Amy’s passion for fitness is still burning strong, running her own personal training business. She is the author of “Talent to Triumph” which aims to help athletes achieve the next level of performance in their sport.
Anna Taylor
One of the world's leading authorities on food and their impact on our health and planet, Anna Taylor is Executive Director of The Food Foundation. During five years at the Department for International Development, Anna led the policy team on nutrition and supported the delivery of the UK’s global commitments to tackle undernutrition. Before joining DFID Anna worked for several international organisations including Save the Children and UNICEF and has been at the forefront of international leadership on nutrition, supporting programmes in Africa and South Asia. Anna also worked for the UK Department of Health. In 2014 she was awarded an OBE for her work to address the global burden of undernutrition.
Calie Rydings
Calie Rydings is an award-winning journalist, campaigner, and co-host of the podcast community "I'm With Her". Aged 19 she was the victim of a serious assault which changed her life forever. A combination of shame and traumatic memory loss meant it would take her nearly 20 years to be able to speak out about what happened that night. Now, she campaigns for greater awareness about sexual violence and seeks to start discussions about the long-term impact on victims and the difficulties many of them face in speaking up.
George Obolo
George Obolo is a multi-award-winning social entrepreneur, leader, creative, public speaker and polymath. He is a medical student in his early twenties at The University of Manchester and the Co-Founder of The Black Excellence Network. This non-profit organisation helps tackle the racial disparities between black students and other ethnicities within the UK, especially in their progression to higher education. George has advised several companies on a wide range of topics, including, The Department for Education, UCAS, McKinsey & Co and MediaCom. Powerlist has recognised him as one of the UK’s Top 5 Future Leaders.
Katie Mobed
Katie Mobed is a leading performance psychologist and culture coach. Her clients include CEOs, Olympic champions, international sports teams and educational leaders. She has been embedded within Team GB for the last decade, supporting many of their most successful athletes and coaches at the London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She has co-authored two books with the England footballer, Marcus Rashford, including the best-seller ‘You are a Champion’. She also runs a series of transformational psychological skills courses for young people through the Moonshot Series.
Max Woosey
Twelve-year old schoolboy Max Woosey, widely known as 'The Boy In The Tent', became famous when he raised more than £700,000 for charity by camping out in his garden for more than two years in honour of his friend, who had died. In that time, Max went though a personal journey of his own, learning about community, resilience and mental health.
Nik Jovčić-Sas
Nik is an LGBTQ+ activist, theologian and musician who has been working for over ten years in everything from drag nights to pride events and academic conferences. Their unique approach is to blend traditional culture and theology with queer theory and intersectional feminism in an attempt to include communities left behind by the contemporary LGBTQ+ rights movement. Nik uses ideas about ritual, tradition and iconography which bring a unique twist to their current work: ranging from Pride bake-offs judged by drag queens in rural Somerset, Balkan circle dances at UK festivals or protests with rainbows on religious images.
Ping Coombes
Ping Coombes shot to fame as winner of the BBC TV MasterChef competition in 2014, after being made redundant from her previous job. She grew up in Ipoh, Malaysia, and brought her love of Malaysian cuisine with her when she came to the UK to study in 2000. Since her TV success she has developed new career paths, running cookery school ‘Ping’s Masak Club’, supper club ‘Pings Makan Club’ and building a new food brand ‘Ping At Home’.
Ruby Sant
Ruby Sant is an artist, teacher and robot designer. As female traveller artist brought up on a council estate, Ruby is a keen advocate and activist for human rights, creating fairer opportunities for people limited by socio-economic factors, in particular invisible inequalities for ‘outsider’ communities. Ruby is an experienced designer and metal fabricator with speciality experience building large-scale, free-standing, outdoor spaces with circuses and outdoor theatre. She has worked for ten years as a specialist facilitator and educator with hard to reach groups such as young offenders, members of the Gypsy, Roma & Traveller community and people living with long-term mental health conditions.
Yagya Regmi
International renewable energy expert Dr. Yagya Regmi grew up in remote western Nepal and moved to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, as a 10-year-old to attend school in the early 1990s. He then completed his undergraduate and PhD degrees in the United States developing materials to make renewable energy technologies sustainable and affordable. After his PhD in 2015, Yagya joined the Center for Renewable Carbon in Tennessee to generate industrial chemicals from waste biomass. Finally in 2018, he ventured west to work at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab in California to develop hydrogen technologies. In 2020, Yagya joined the Manchester Fuel Cell Innovation Centre and the Chemistry Department at Manchester Metropolitan University. In 2022 he launched HyPeakEnergy, a company that aims to help innovators adopt hydrogen technologies.
Yasmeen Lari
Yasmeen Lari is a world-famous pioneer of zero carbon architecture and designer of over 50,000 zero carbon, low-cost homes in her home country of Pakistan. Yasmeen Lari qualified as Pakistan's first female architect in 1963, and lives in Karachi. She rose to become a nationally famous 'starchitect' during her early career. Since her official retirement from architectural practice in 2000, her UN-recognised charity 'Heritage Foundation Pakistan' has built thousands of zero carbon homes for some of the poorest rural villages in Pakistan. She was awarded the Fukuoka Prize in 2016, and the Jane Drew prize in 2020.
