In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ajay Sharma

Dr. Ajay Nair Sharma is a recent graduate of the MD/MBA program at UC Irvine and co-founder of Diary of a Med Student. As Ajay completed his journey through medical school, he found his days filled with joy, sorrow, humor, and inspiration. Sharing these tales with friends and colleagues was therapeutic, but as the pandemic deepened and education shifted virtually, it became easy to slip into loneliness and feelings of isolation. By creating a platform, in the form of diary, through which medical students across the world could share their story, Ajay connects us in a powerful way to show that we are not alone in feeling lonely.
