Theme: Rewind. Re-Find. Redefine

Our theme this year is “Rewind, Re-find, Redefine”, and in our talks this year, you will get a chance to listen to the inspiring stories of our speakers from the fields of Technology, Science, Art, as well as Humanitarianism. Not only will these pioneers share how their special work would affect the world, but also how they are striving to create a more solid future amidst this time of uncertainty.

Emery Fung

Podcast Host | Awkward Turtle at Work

Emery has developed a strong sense of community, belonging and understood the power of team work through sport from an early age. Being a transgender man, sport was and is a safe space for Emery to be in touch with his masculine side and to fully express himself. After spending his early life in the UK, Emery returned to kickstart his career in Hong Kong. Having worked in corporate recruitment for over 6 years, Emery saw the wide gap of diversity in the workplace firsthand. Being in a privileged position, Emery is committing himself to spread awareness and be a driver to change through lived experiences. Emery launched his podcast, ‘Awkward Turtle’, now at season 2. It is a comedy standup-like podcast that tackles the difficult conversation with a lighter spin.

Jacky Lai

Founder and CEO | Peeba

Jacky is the Founder and CEO of Peeba.com, a wholesale marketplace that helps retailers in Asia buy wholesale for their store without inventory risk. With Peeba, retailers can try to sell a product before they buy them, retailers get 60 days to see if they can sell it, anything that doesn’t sell can be sent back to Peeba for free within 60 days. Prior to founding Peeba, Jacky was the co-founder of Jarkas Lab, a venture backed mobile marketing automation platform, where he worked with over 200 brands to better engage their mobile customers with the right message and at the right time. Earlier in his career, Jacky was the Founder and CEO of Wavee, a penny auction website, where he led the team to generate from $0 to over $40,000,000 USD in annual sales. While in college, Jacky has run several businesses including Misedukated Entertainment, the largest college marketing company in Atlanta at the time. Jacky graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Jonathan Jay Lee

Award-winning Illustrator

Based in Hong Kong, Taiwanese-American born Jonathan Jay Lee graduated with Departmental Honors in Illustration from Parsons School of Design. He is an award-winning illustrator whose clients have included Marvel Comics, Mercedes, San Miguel, Lamborghini, Lee Kum Kee, MINI, Disney Plus, Ho Lee Fook, Asics Tiger, Japan Tourism Board and HSBC. He has been a speaker at Apple, Creative Mornings, Congreso Tad, School of Creative Media, and is named World’s Best 200 Illustrators in Lürzer’s Archive. A former Professor, Jonathan has also designed and taught more than 20 different courses in Illustration and Sequential Art.

Olivia Cotes-James

Founder and CEO | LUÜNA Naturals

Based between Hong Kong and Shanghai, Olivia is the founder and CEO of LUÜNA Naturals. LUÜNA is a disruptive period wellness company on a mission to redefine the way we approach menstruation through healthy products, education and community. Since launching in 2019, LUÜNA has achieved the United Nations Empowerment of Women Award 2021 and their healthy period products are now sold in major retailers including Watsons, Wellcome and City Super. Olivia has been recognised in Forbes 30Under30 2021, Hong Kong Women's Advocate of the Year, Hong Kong Entrepreneur of the Year and Shanghai Young Business Leader of the Year.

Sally Wong

Founder | CityU Toastmasters Club

Ms. Wong Shuk Ching, Sally, obtained her BBA (Accounting) degree back in 2018 and is now pursuing her MA studies in CityU in Communication and New Media. Sally founded City University of Hong Kong Toastmasters Club and Hong Kong Orators Association Limited while being a Senior Consultant at Deloitte Advisory (Hong Kong) Limited. Sally had organized and delivered two interactive training sessions on the topics of “Workplace Communications” and “Presentation Skills”, respectively, to a team of over 50 people with positive feedback received from fellow colleagues and partners at Deloitte. Sally is now a Certified NLP Practitioner accredited by International NLP Federation and International NLP Association, and a Certified NLP Coach accredited by International NLP Coach Association. Meanwhile, she is studying for a Master of Arts in Communication and New Media.
