In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amy Keely

Amy J. Keely is an award-winning supply-chain marketer with over twenty years of business experience working for small businesses as well as billion-dollar corporations - in a variety of industries – primarily within the disciplines of marketing and operations. Amy’s specialty areas include global business management, small business, and business operational efficiencies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan with an influence in psychology and communication and attended Cambridge University in the UK for International Studies. She also holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Education (M.Ed.); and a Ph.D. ABD in Philosophy, Aesthetics, and Art Theory. Her successful marketing campaigns have resulted in earning the highly prestigious industry awards of the American Marketing Association Award and Silver Microphone Award. Amy has traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and globally to countries in Europe and India. It has helped her have a deeper understanding of various cultures in global business. In addition, she has taught classes at both business colleges and art schools in many disciplines.

Jill Hinton Wolfe

Jill Hinton Wolfe is Grand Valley State University’s first Director of the Secchia Military and Veteran Resource Center. Previously, she worked in corporate marketing, and as an Advertising/PR professor, as an entrepreneur and an Army military intelligence soldier. In 2021 she received the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency’s “Veteran Educational Advocate of the Year” award. She serves as Vice President of the Kent County Veterans Services Advisory Board and on the Michigan Hall of Heroes board; she is also a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW and the Women Veterans Alliance. She lives in Michigan with her husband and five kids, and is active in the legally blind community.

Lex Russ

Lex is a Recreational Therapist and received their Bachelor of Science at Grand Valley State University. They are currently in the Master of Science program for Recreational Therapy. Lex has had experience working with many different client populations including geriatrics, behavioral health, physical disabilities, and pediatrics. They hope to share their experiences to help other clinicians better understand certain trauma disorders in order to help provide the best treatment options available.

Meegan Zickus

Meegan is an attorney, professor, and bioethicist. She graduated from GVSU with degrees in both Biomedical Science and Political Science, then attended Loyola Law and Michigan State University College of Law. Upon graduation, she continued to work as an attorney. She has taught Biology and Bioethics at GVSU for the past 18 years, and is one of three Bioethicists and Attorneys serving on the State of Michigan Department of Public Health Ethics Committee.

Samuel Ohl

Sam is a Grand Valley State University Alumni with a B.B.A. in Marketing and a minor in Spanish. He has interests in small business, marketing, product engineering, and language.
