Theme: Road Not Taken

The poem, "The road not taken" by Robert Frost describes the dilemma of a person standing on a road with diversion. The diversion represents the crucial decisions that one has to make in their life. Good or bad, happy or sad, whatever the decision is, it changes the course of one's future.
"Road Not Taken" has been chosen as the theme for TEDxNSUT's 2022 event to give speakers a wide umbrella of topics to speak upon, sharing their ideas and insight with the audience. This will give scope for topics that are usually not spoken about just like the road less traveled.

Chirag Gupta is considered a pioneer amongst pioneers for introducing a premium snacking experience in India. Upon completion of a Bachelors's in Computer Science Engineering in 2005, he joined Infosys as a software engineer. After a Master's Degree from the United States, he joined Deloitte and worked as a Management Consultant till 2013, wherein he found his love for popcorn and the need to introduce the gourmet segment to the Indian Market. Dr. Abhinav Mathur

Having graduated from NSIT (Now NSUT) 1988 batch, Abhinav earned a Ph.D. from IT Delhi and an MBA from IIM Lucknow. He currently holds the position of Senior Advisor to Niti Aayog's Vice Chairman. In addition to being a renowned business strategist, Dr. Mathur is the Founder and Chairman of Million Sparks Foundation (MSF) which promotes lifelong learning and continuous training for teachers and school leaders in order to improve student outcomes. The world's first technology incubator that he led has helped create several startups. An active angel investor, he shares his expertise with startups for growth and serves on the boards of several high-growth companies. Throughout his corporate career spanning about twenty-four years, he held senior management positions in various multinational companies. Among his fields of expertise are Mobility, Telecommunications, Financial Technology, Entertainment, Health Care, and Education.

Kalashree Janhavi Rajaraman

Professional Bharatanatyam Dancer, Founder and Managing Trustee - TAPAS

Accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, Kalashree Janhavi Rajaraman is an inspiration to all dancers and all artists in general. Learning Bharatanatyam since she was 9 years old, she got the opportunity to perform her Arangetram in the year 2000 after years of hard work and dedication. After this, there was no looking back for her. She adopted dancing as her profession and in no time she was requested to become a Guru at Lok Kala Manch and a teacher at Ganesa Natyalaya, the place she learned her craft. She went on to perform, judge, and represent India on various platforms through her craft of Bharatanatyam because of which she was conferred with many awards and titles, Kalashree by Ganesa Natyalaya in 2004 being one of them.

Mukesh Gahlot

Bodybuilder, Powerlifter and Coach "Guru Ji"

The quadruple winner of the Mr. India title and holding a national record for the same, Mukesh Singh Gahlot, has represented India in various prestigious international competitions including the World Powerlifting Championship, Olympia Pro Powerlifting Division, and British Open Powerlifting Championship, and won gold countless times. The decorated athlete who is equally active in bodybuilding and powerlifting, after working for several years in the private sector finally decided to pursue bodybuilding full-time and is now setting examples of discipline and consistency for everyone.

Praachi Tiwari

Research Scholar, TIFR

Praachi Tiwari started her Ph.D. at TIFR, Mumbai in 2016, where her fascination for neuroscience made her join Prof. Vidita Vaidya's lab. She is interested in understanding the neurocircuitry underlying mood-related behaviors, and how psychedelics can be used for treating mental disorders. Prior to that, she completed her B.Tech in Biotechnology from NIT, Allahabad. Praachi has received many prestigious grants and awards like the Sun Pharma Science Scholar Award, Sarojini Damodaran fellowship, and recently, the Regional Social Media Ambassador grant for FENS Forum 2022. Not only is she well-versed in multiple scientific and technical skills, but she is also a trained Kathak dancer and an avid reader, who enjoys dancing and reading in her leisure time.

The pilot couple, Tapesh and Prachi, or as we know them as 'Tapchi', show us how to maintain one's individuality while learning and depending on each other as life partners. Capt. Tapesh Kumar, the owner of the YouTube channel, Boeing Boy, followed his passion for aviation, and became the youngest captain at the age of 25 and is currently the captain of Airbus A320. Meanwhile, Capt. Prachi Goswami, who has been a national-level swimmer, started her aviation journey back in 2015 at Patiala Aviation Club and went from flying a tiny C152 to a big jet like the airbus A320 in India is setting an example for all the women who aspire to achieve something big one day, improving the condition of women in India and the world. The duo leaves no stone left untouched as they enjoy travel, vlogging, and fitness while achieving great heights in their career at the same time.

A 1999-batch IFS officer and an authority on wildlife management and laws, Surender Mehra, has vast experience working in Protected Areas including his stint as Field Director of the world-famous Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR). Working to protect the rich faunal wealth of the Corbett & other forest areas and to reduce human-animal conflict in that region and other parts of Uttarakhand, Mehra aims to protect the wildlife and ensure the strengthening of the corridors to further protect the Wilderness landscapes. He has also served as D.I.G, National Tiger Conservation Authority, and contributed to shaping Tiger Conservation policy and initiatives at National Level.
