Isabela McNeilly-Anta
Student
Isabela is passionate about self-improvement, domestic politics, and religious studies. She has participated in many Newark Academy programs, representing the school as a student ambassador, soccer player, and peer tutor coordinator. Additionally, she has leadership roles on the Newark Academy Fencing and Model Congress teams.
Kaya Patel
As an organizer and now coordinator for Newark Academy’s annual Eco-Summit, Kaya has worked to educate the school community on many facets of environmentalism ranging from environmental justice to indigenous rights to environmental health. As the Editor-in-Chief of The Minutemen, the president of Newark Academy Model United Nations and Art Club, and the co-founder of the Public Health Group, Kaya has used her various platforms and interests to further engage in the topics of environmentalism, science, public policy, and health.
Mason Kung
Aside from lounging in the college office, Mason spends his time engaging in public speaking and musical performance. Mason enjoys leading the Model Congress team competing for awards, as well as nurturing his fellow underclassmen. Mason has been a longtime performer playing the cello for over 15 years. As well as playing the trombone in his school’s jazz band. Dedicated to community service Mason has volunteered at Liberty Science Center and Overlook Medical Hospital. Recently he has been engaged in a volunteer organization called Conversations to Remember which allows him to interact and provide company to other senior citizens who have dementia. Mason also ran an organization called Chamber for a Cause dedicated to bringing music to those in nursing homes. Right now Mason has been engaging in advocacy working as a law clerk for K.S. Branigan P.C.
Navyaa Jain
Navyaa’s perspective is guided through a lens of sustainability. Her work as the High School Co-Chair of the New Jersey Student Sustainability Coalition, the President of Newark Academy’s Green and Blue club, and a collaborator on climate summits with Columbia University’s Earth Institute inspired her to look at government and politics as a way of bringing about change in the environmental sustainability movement.
From there, she co-chaired the writing of white papers for the Green in 21’ policy guide that examined the intersectionality between the environment and government, while interning with congressional and gubernatorial campaigns.
Additionally, she works as the director of curriculum outreach at the Institute for Youth in Policy, working to increase the strength of civic education in high schools across the country.
Rahul Arora
Rahul, a student at Newark Academy, serves as a member of the Student Council, a member of the Equity and Inclusion team, a photographer for the yearbook, and as a player on NA's esteemed Cricket Club.
Suved Wali
Suved Wali, a student at Newark Academy, is the Vice President of the Entrepreneurship and Business Club, contributor to the Federal Reserve Challenge Club, and an elected member of the Student Council.
