Theme: Generational Echoes: Taking Steps to Understand Each Other

This event occurred on
April 20, 2022
Daegu, Daegu Gwang'yeogsi
South Korea

One culture can be interpreted in a variety of ways. Whether culture is welcomed or not, it is a vivid and unique experience for each individual. We believe that continuous, open discussions and shared experiences can help close the gap between generations, different racial or ethnic groups and other communities, so that we can feel more comfortable to open up about our stories and to continue expanding our understanding and compassion for one another to be inclusive and considerate of each other’s backgrounds.

Colin Ji

Student
Colin Woohyeok Ji is a freshman at Daegu International School. He was born and raised mostly in Masan, a relatively small town with flourished commercial fishing. As he was introduced to cultures from all around the globe, competition on a global scale has been his goal. He has a dog and loves to go out on a walk with him. He likes to hang out with his friends, listen to music, watch movies, and play sports. He was fascinated by economics and by its ability to allow him to see the world from a more rational perspective. His public speaking experiences like debate contests, MUN, and academic seminars were always intriguing. An opportunity to share his thoughts with a group of audiences is where he can talk about his thoughts on how he breaks down the present society to find a guide. Generations and the decisions one makes day by day affect future generations to come. Although some decisions are out of our control to make, many are within reach for a better future. Depending on what we commit to, we can choose to spread the generational wealth, connections, and prosperity, or even trauma, health risks, and most importantly, the personality of another person.
