Theme: An Alternate Universe

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aditya Manubarwala

Advocate, Supreme Court of India

A speaker best to represent the legal community that TEDXILSLAW aims to foster, Aditya Manubarwala is an Advocate practicing at the Supreme Court of India, and National Company Law Tribunals and other commercial tribunals. An LLM graduate from the University of Cambridge, he has many accolades to showcase true ambition and success in the legal field, making him truly inspirational not only for the masses, but especially the youth of ILS Law College, Pune. Amongst other things, he served as a Law Clerk-Cum-Research Assistant at the Supreme Court of India, and is also the incumbent Global Peace Ambassador to India (2018-19), as appointed by the Centre for Peace Studies, Sri Lanka. Further, he is notably the youngest Advisory Board Member of the Asian African Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Dr.Sanjay Jain

Professor and Principal (Additional Charge) at ILS Law College, Pune.

Dr.Sanjay Jain, with a teaching experience of over 20 Years in the fields of comparative constitutionalism, feminist jurisprudence and International Economic law. Most importantly, Dr. Jain has helped to create an atmosphere of inclusivity in our college, and his advocacy of Disability Rights won him the National Award for Employees from President APJ Abdul Kalam himself on the occasion of the World Disabled Day in 2004. Today, he will talk about Ableism- a social issue that permeates our society but is often overlooked, and will share his views on how differently abled people live in an alternate reality compared to the lives of others.

Dr.Sapna Sharma

International counsellor, a life coach, a motivational speaker.

Dr Sapna Sharma is an international counsellor, a life coach, a motivational speaker, a counselling skills trainer, and a published author. She is the author of two books: "Spiritual Parenting" and "For the Love of Me." Both novels have gained widespread praise and acclaim around the country. She has received the coveted 'Shiromani Samupadeshak' or Gem Counsellor Award, the 'Successful Women in Management Award, and the 'Counsellor of the Decade' award for her work in pioneering and popularizing counselling in central India. Aside from that, she is a popular columnist for a number of newspapers and periodicals. Among her many social services, Dr Sapna has travelled the entire state of Punjab to inspire the youth to live a positive life free of drugs.

Nauman Beig

Student, ILS Law College, Pune

Nauman is a final year law student at ILS Law College, Pune. They are keenly interested in Constitutional Law, LGBTQ+ rights and social justice. They have worked under eminent lawyers like Dr. Menaka Gurudwamy, Neeraj Kishan Kaul, Saurabh Kirpal and Arundhati Katju. Nauman has extensively displayed their acumen and ability to explain legal concepts at prestigious events like the Willem C Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot, 2021 and NLS Trilegal International Commercial Arbitration Moot, 2020.

Utkarsh Shukla, founder of YUG Metaverse, has always harboured an entrepreneurial streak, having started his first venture in the third year of B.Tech. Believing firmly in the power of Technology to bring a change in the world's many vices, he has worked with multiple startups dealing in the areas of Gaming, Finance, Agriculture, Education and more. With YUG Metaverse, the IIT Kanpur and ISB Hyderabad Alumni is working on providing a Simple Creator Platform where anyone can build their on Experiences, and certainly can hold an audience by exploring a field not yet mainstream for the masses.
