In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Elaine Gao is currently a sophomore at Jenks High School. She is either writing, playing the piano, debating, or reading. She is on the school Speech and Debate Team, Mock Trial Team, and Academic Team. She is also the Key Club Lieutenant Governor for next year.

Raymond Jiang

Raymond is a busy person, and similar to many high schoolers, he has a schedule that’s filled with activities he loves doing, from Speech and Debate to watching Dance Moms. Because of his busy schedule, he has a tendency to multitask to get things done on time, but it seems he always ends up using more time by multitasking! This inspired his TEDx talk, where he will look deeper into an issue that holds so many of us back today!

Sara Allen is a senior at Booker T. Washington High School. At school, Sara is a member of her school’s speech and debate team, the president of her school’s National Honor Society and Key Club, and the Editor-in-chief of Booker T. Washington’s newspaper, The Taliaferro Times. Outside of school, Sara holds the principal bass role in four different local orchestras.
