In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Apoorva is a leading Carnatic musician, trained in Carnatic violin for nearly 20 years. The first Indian to receive the Young Artist Grant from Tarisio, London, Apoorva has performed over 500 concerts at national and international music festivals and venues. She believes music is a language that unites the world beyond borders and boundaries. She aims to spread the healing power of music and enrich communities, society, and the world at large. Apoorva has performed alongside legendary musicians including Ustaad Zakir Husain, John McLaughlin, and Shankar Mahadevan.
