Khadija Bakhtiar
Khadija Shahper Bakhtiar is the Founder and CEO of Teach For Pakistan, a national movement of outstanding graduates and young professionals working to end educational inequity. The organization is a partner in the Teach For All global network of independent, national organizations working with a similar mission in 60+ countries across the world. Khadija has worked as Teach For All’s Lead Director for Participant and Alumni Impact, supporting partners in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. She currently serves on the Boards of the Punjab Examination Commission and the National Education Foundation, and as an advisor on Teach for All’s Network Advisory Committee. She is a Fulbright recipient with a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BSc. (hon) in Social Sciences from the Lahore University of Management Sciences.
Maliha Javed Khan
Maliha Javed Khan is an entrepreneur and edtech enthusiast. She served as Director Content
Development at Pakistan’s largest education technology company and has led multiple educational
content development and research projects. Passionate about building businesses, Maliha has
worked with some of the country’s flagship entrepreneurship-related initiatives that work with
startups and small businesses, mentoring them for growth and scale. She was also co-founder of
Pakistan’s first online insurance retail platform.
Najma Un Nisa
Community Activisit
Najma Un Nisa is a physiotherapy assistant at Clubfoot clinic which is part of Lady Reading Hospital. Over
the course of 4 years since its inception, Najma and her team have been able to treat and offer
ortho-prosthetic services 921 cases young children who are now living a completely normal life
without disability. Najma in her talk talks about collective societal measures that needs to be taken
place concurrently with treatment. Najma’s moving talk is reflective of her years of work in the field
with powerful stories. Najma holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and have been engaged in the
provision of physical rehabilitation services since 2009
Usama Javed
Usama is the founder and CEO of Saving 9, a social enterprise dedicated to teaching people how to save lives through imparting first aid and mental health education. He is a Fulbright scholar, with a Masters of Education from Columbia University and training as an Emergency Medical Technician from New York State. He has a BSc in Physics from LUMS. Usama has worked on education and health policy initiatives with the public and private sectors in the last 5 years.
