Theme: Balance

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Fiona is a freshman at Dougherty Valley High School. She is also a figure skater and dancer. Fiona loves to express herself and voice her thoughts through various mediums such as speech and debate in addition to dance and skating. She also finds immense joy from studying Biology and sciences pertaining to the living earth. Though her talk, Fiona would like to challenge us to think beyond what we see on the surface.

Pankaj Vij, M.D. FACP, is a Lifestyle Medicine physician in the San Francisco Bay area at Pleasanton, California. He is the Chief Architect of Crack the Wellness Code- a community platform for health promotion. His areas of interest include lifestyle medicine, which encompasses nutrition, fitness, and stress management. He is a graduate of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. He is the author of Turbo Metabolism: 8 Weeks to a New You: Preventing and Reversing Diabetes, Obesity, Heart Disease, and Other Metabolic Diseases by Treating the causes. His hobbies include outdoor adventures and playing guitar

Sadhana Tadepalli

Sadhana Tadepalli is a student at Dougherty Valley High School. She enjoys working in an entrepreneurial setting, and strives to create an impact. She loves networking with people, and learning about the world around her. Passionate about making her own way in life, she will be talking about how to maintain control over your own life with balance.

Sania Bidurukontam

Sania Bidurukontam is a problem solver at heart - whether it be working her way through challenging chess tactics or solving the daily crossword, she enjoys the journey of getting to the final answer. But she derives the most pleasure in applying technology to solve real world problems, and aspires to pursue a career in computer science to solve some of the world’s most demanding problems. When she is not keeping up with the latest advances in STEM fields, Sania enjoys unwinding with a good book, playing the piano, or catching the latest episode of Jeopardy!

Somiah Handy

Small Business Manager at SF Chamber

Somiah Handy has 6 years of direct experience working with small business communities. Since the young age of 14, Somiah has interned and worked for various legislators such as retired Congressmen George Miller, Senator Dianne Feinstein, and Congressman Scott Peters. She did her undergrad at UC San Diego with a bachelor's in Political Science Public Policy. After college Somiah worked in D.C. advocating for education policy, and soon afterwards moved back to California where she worked for the California State Guarantee Program as the Assistant Vice President to help businesses create and retain jobs and to provide greater access to a variety of sources of capital to underserved markets and small businesses.
