Dr Bitasta Das, a visionary in pedagogy, has worked at the forefront of harmonizing folk art and science. She is passionate about creating a dialogue within this often-misunderstood dichotomy. A humanities instructor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, she is deeply involved in promulgating folk knowledge through her work. She teaches a humanities paper on “Mapping India with the Folk Arts” to the undergraduate students of IISc.
Her book “Arting Science” is lauded as a pioneer work on communicating science with Indian folk art. A member of the Chhattisgarh State Planning Commission, she has been invited to deliver lectures at several institutes in India and abroad.
