In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

While helping disabled people get training according to their work positions, it helps people to improve themselves and access job opportunities and provides employers with training on people with disabilities.

Figen Şakacı

Screenwriter/Journalist

Born in 1971 in Istanbul, she graduated from Istanbul University; Faculty of Communications. She started participating in journalism in 1989 and worked as a reporter, editor and columnist for various newspaper and magazines. She earned the title of the first feminist standup artist between 1998 and 1999 with her performance called “Neyse Ne”. Figen şakacı published two books titled “Her Doğum Bir Mücizedir” and “Mizah Zekanın Zekatıdır” with İşbankası Kültür Yayınları. The play “Topuklu Terlik Süt Yapar”, adapted from the story “Pişti” in “Pala Hayriye”, was staged by Aysa Prodüksiyon in 2017 and by Şogen Film in 2019, and was later published as a book with the same name. Her stories were collected into a book called “Kesekli Tarla” (2020- İletişim Yayınları), which was included in the list for the Sait Faik and Haldun Taner Story Award. Her short story “Hepsi Bu” was published on an international literature website with the translation of Sevda Akyüz.

Güliz Baykal

Mine Güliz Baykal, ever since she was a child she believed the words of Kazancakis “ I hope for nothing, I fear nothing, I am free…” She studied law in order to be a part of the fearless struggle of freedom. After graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Law, she completed her postgraduates education in Criminal Law and Forensic Medicine. She works as a lawyer in the law firm that she established. She is one of the educators of the İstanbul Bar Association and the Union of Turkish Bar Association in the field of children’s rights and human rights. She works as a volunteer in many nonprofit organizations that aim to raise awareness and support for disadvantaged individuals. She is the owner of the “Umuda Şarkılar Söylüyoruz” project, which brings together artists and nonprofit organizations in order to raise awareness of social problems and give hope.

İlayda Eskitaşçıoğlu

İlayda Eskitaşçıoğlu, graduated from Bilkent University, Faculty of Law and she completed her Advanced Studies Master’s Program at Leiden University, European and International Human Rights Law. She continues her doctorate studies in the field of International Human Rights Law at Koç University. She is a lawyer registered in Ankara Bar Association. She is the co-founder of the “Konuşmamız Gerek Derneği”, which fights against the menstrual poverty and menstrual taboo in Turkey. Eskitaşçıoğlu’s academic interests are international human rights law, feminist legal theory, career and human rights, gender equality, sustainable development, reproductive and sexual rights, child labor. She was a part of the United Nations Women’s Youth Task Force on Equality for Generations and has been selected as the 17 Young Leaders for Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations.

Şerif Erol

Graduated from Boğaziçi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in 1986. During his university years he started his acting training. After his graduation in 1987, he continued the decor and costume master’s program at Mimar Sinan University of Faculty of Fine Arts. During the years of 1987-88 in Bilsak Tiyatro Atölyesi he continued his acting education led by Beklan Algan. From 1988 to the present, he took part of ‘Savaş Oyunları’ (Edward Bond), ‘Müfettişler’ (M.C. Anday), ‘İyi Hava Kötü Hava’ (Anton Çehov), ‘Yolcu’ (Nazım Hikmet), and many other plays. Between 1997-1998 he worked as the Culture and Art Editor in Radikal Newspaper. He worked as a screenwriter in various television series. He takes place in the current television series called ‘Camdaki Kız’.
