Kwame Akoto Bamfo
Kwame Akoto-Bamfo is a Ghanaian sculptor, educator, and activist renowned for his dedication to preserving African history and promoting restorative justice through art. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in painting and sculpture from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
His seminal work, the Nkyinkyim Installation, is an evolving art project comprising over 1,500 portraits of Africans in the diaspora. This installation pays homage to the victims of the Transatlantic slave trade and is prominently featured at the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, Alabama.
In 2017, Akoto-Bamfo gained international attention with his "Faux-Reedom" exhibition, which featured 1,200 sculpted heads representing Ghana's enslaved ancestors. This powerful display questioned Ghana's independence and highlighted neo-colonial legacies.
Beyond his installations, Akoto-Bamfo actively participates in public speaking, research, and lectures, focusing on archiving and promoting African history and cultural heritage. His work has been featured in various documentaries and miniseries, including "Enslaved" (2020) and "The Art of Healing" (2022).
His contributions to art and activism have earned him several accolades, such as the GUBA Influential Artist of the Year in 2019 and the inaugural Kuenyehia Prize for Contemporary Art.
Through his art, Kwame Akoto-Bamfo continues challenging historical narratives, fostering healing, and inspiring restorative justice across the African diaspora.
Michelle Sam
Ghanaian-American writer, actress, and filmmaker
Michelle Sam is a writer, award-winning filmmaker, actress, and multimedia artist. Her parents are Ghanaian immigrants, and she was raised in Ireland, the UK, and various U.S. states. Her work often explores the intersection of identities and stories in a visceral manner. She wrote for Jason Katims' show on Amazon, As We See It, based on the Israeli show On The Spectrum about neurodiversity and Hardly Working on Paramount Plus. She has won various awards for her short films, Missed Connections (KweliTV, CFMDC, audience award at TranScreen Amsterdam Transgender Film Festival, and collaborated with the GLAAD Transgender Media Equality Program) and wrote Black Boy Joy (streaming on HBO Max) which received an NAACP Image Award.
Nana Danso
Nana Danso Awuah-Asante, professionally known as Artsoul Kojo, is a self-taught Ghanaian contemporary artist born in 1996. His distinctive style features childlike strokes and elementary shapes, delving into universal and existential themes that reflect the complex imaginations of the human psyche. Nana Danso holds a Bachelor's degree in Information and Sociology from the University of Ghana, Legon, earned in 2018.
His solo exhibitions include "From Soul to Humanity" at La Art Foundation for the Arts in Accra in 2024 and "The History of Ghana" at Gallery 1957 in Accra in 2021. He has also participated in significant group exhibitions and residencies, such as "A Divination of Enjoyment: Extended Play" at The Mix in Accra in 2023 and an artist residency at Gallery 1957 in Accra in 2021.
Nana Danso's work fuses storytelling and poetry with impressionist and pop-art visuals, portraying his reactions to the world and exploring diverse subjects. He views art as a medium for self-expression, cultural preservation, and innovation, emphasizing embracing change and overcoming fear to unlock creativity and fulfillment.

Patrick Fynn is a Ghanaian medical practitioner, activist, youth leader, writer, and social entrepreneur. He is the founder and team leader of StandOut Care, a primary healthcare organization committed to increasing access to basic health services in Ghana. Through her work, she has provided platforms for young artists, designers, and entrepreneurs to showcase their craft and grow their brands.
Her initiatives, such as Lokko Decks music nights and POP shop & friends thrift experiences, have gained widespread popularity, attracting visitors, returnees, and the Ghanaian diaspora. Recognizing Lokko House as a hub of innovation, Stefania has partnered with the Ghana Enterprise Agency and the Mastercard Foundation to mentor emerging female fashion designers and help them establish global retail platforms.
