Theme: Back to the Future!

This event occurred on
March 3, 2022
Yokohama, Tôkyô
Japan

The discussion of past, present, and future is fundamental in the process of growing up. In ongoing times like the global pandemic, we collectively tend to hyper-focus on the present. Being extra cautious of reality, we forget that there is a future in front of us.

Our theme for this year's TedxYouth@YIS is one that perfectly encapsulates the necessity for ambition during times of struggle, where the concept of "time" can be overwhelmingly complex: "Back to the Future!"

Silence comes with a lot of benefits such as pushing us to become a better version of ourselves. However, it is usually misinterpreted by people. In fact, people like to assume someone is mad when they are quiet, but the truth is...

Regardless of how far humanity travels into space, it will always need one thing, food. As we move closer to being able to colonize a new planet, we must question, how are we going to bring food with us?

People who no longer live in their home country for a long time, often say "I have forgotten the language", and try to learn the language again but it's difficult for them. What if we change the question into "What is the factor that is making it difficult for me to learn the language well or making it difficult for me to learn the language well or losing the language?" Perhaps it would be more helpful.

Life stories come in many shapes and forms. Those same stories contribute to moulding the person you are today. But do the impactful and significant stories that create YOU only come from personal experiences? Could those around you influence who YOU are through their OWN stories?
