Theme: Fortifying Future

TEDxXIMUniversity’s theme of fortifying future intends to bring change and secure the future of our closely-knit MBA community. As graduates, we will be saddled with immense responsibilities and expectations from the professional and personal front. To meet these expectations and excel at every front, one will have to develop a sense of security in all aspects.

We aim to develop an understanding of securing one's future from all dimensions and widen the scope of opportunities. We hope that a comprehensive understanding of various facets of life such as financial, physical, mental, social, and cyber will help us ensure a fortified future.

Akshay Gupta

Senior Associate at Boston Consulting Group

Mr. Akshay Gupta is currently a senior associate at Boston Consulting Group. Before joining BCG, he had worked at Accenture as a management consulting analyst, where he received many accolades like the Distinguished Achiever award and the Practice Champion award. Mr. Akshay is an entrepreneur by heart and has built up his startup with zeal and passion. He already established himself as a funded entrepreneur before pursuing his MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur in 2017. He actively participated and won several accolades for the institute at the National level in various corporate business competitions.

Arpan Kumar Kar

Associate Professor

Prof. Arpan Kar is Chair Professor in Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He chairs Corporate Relation and also is in multiple board committees in government groups and private universities. He has handled over 40 advisory and training projects across government and industry. He is the Editor in Chief of International Journal of Information Management Data Insights, published by Elsevier. He has published over 150 research articles and edited 7 books, which have around 5000 citations. He has won over 20 national and international awards like Basant Kumar Birla Distinguished Research, Clarivate Analytics Research Excellence and Best Selling Case Author (lvey/HBR).

Dr Aruna Broota

Psychologist

Dr Aruna Broota is a globally revered psychologist, trusted mind-body-soul transformation expert. She has over 40 years of experience. She completed her MA in Psychology from Delhi University, post which she did PhD in Clinical Psychology from Delhi University. She is serving as Trainer and Mentor in various schools and colleges where she helps parents, family elders and educators understand the child's anxiety and prepare their ground for building their future. Children, on the other hand, are made to realize life truths of better self-management and how to deal with failures.

Dr. Anirban Basu

Neuroscientist

Dr Anirban Basu is a Senior scientist and Professor at National Brain Research Centre, Manesar, Haryana. Dr Basu, obtained his Ph.D. from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata, India in the year 1998. He is a neurobiologist, who is primarily interested in neurovirology and neuroimmunology. He also sits on various boards like the Journal of Neurochemistry and the Journal of Neuroinflammation. At present, Dr Basu is co-section Head for the Infectious Diseases of the Nervous System Section in F1000 (which forms part of the Neurological Disorders Faculty).

Dr. Soumendra Mohan Patnaik

Professor of Anthropology

Prof Soumendra Mohan Patnaik is an anthropologist of international repute with specialization in Globalization, Development, Tourism and Tribal studies. After obtaining Ph.D. from University of Delhi, he has been Fulbright Nehru visiting fellow at Virginia Tech University, USA. Prof Patnaik has been teaching Social Anthropology for more than three decades at the University of Delhi. He has been honoured with numerous awards and fellowships. He is currently the President of Indian Anthropological Association. He was also the member of Governing Body of Sri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, and former Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University and Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology.

Shikha Chauhan

Pro-MMA Fighter

Mrs. Shikha Chauhan is a Pro-MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) Fighter affiliated with MMA FitZone, Delhi, India. She has trained in various foundation styles of Martial Arts, including Grappling, Brazilian Jiu Jutsu, Karate, Kickboxing, Self-Defense Techniques, and Pencak Silat. She has won numerous championships under the guidance of Sensei Abhishek Bisht. In addition to representing India internationally, Mrs. Shikha is also a Black Belt in Sanshinkan Shitoryu Karate, a Certified National Referee by Indian Pencak Silat Federation, and a self-defense trainer for Delhi Police Women Wing.
