In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aaron Kai Matamoro Rodriguez

The Advocate of Equality
With changing times comes changing perspectives on what it means to be equitable. This young ESRM student has a lot to share when it comes to the topic of racial inequality. By highlighting his own observations, and personal experiences, allow Aaron to guide you through the prejudices we are still surrounded by today and how you can emancipate yourself from these unconscious biases.

The Opportunist
Have you ever wanted to participate in something new, but never understood why you hadn’t? Allegra has been very observant of her surroundings for the past couple of years, especially when it came to navigating school events. Allegra is a S5 student in the English section at the European School Rhein Main. For her talk, let Allegra navigate you through the behaviours and opposing forces that influence our decisions.

Anais Reinsch

The Athlete: Rowing with the Changes
Anais truly believes that failure is not the result, but it is part of the process of achieving success. Anais is both an American and German student here at the European School Rhein Main. As a rower, Anais shares her experiences, and how she “found her stroke” on her journeys abroad. So, if you’re struggling to follow your passion and do what challenges you, hop into Anais’ boat!

Astrid Messmer Rodriguez

Astrid is working in the Lufthansa Group management in Frankfurt. As a female leader and mother of three kids, she has often faced challenges of change. In order to master these challenges, she is convinced that being bravehearted is the best strategy to follow. What this means and how to become a bravehearted mind is what she will talk about. Astrid is a true European citizen: she grew up in Spain, has studied business economics in Germany and has also lived in London during the first part of her career. She is married and has one daughter (18) and two sons (16 and 14).

Attila Ersin

The Conductor of Comfort Zones
What is a comfort zone, and how does it impact us? Attila, a Dutch native student who now attends the European School Rhein Main, has been thinking about this for a while now. In his talk, he focuses on the different zones of change and what influences people to take risks. If you are interested in learning about what holds you back when making decisions, and how to navigate through challenging choices- come out and listen to Attila!

Eric Samuel

The Progressive Percipient
Eric is not only a graduating student who will be making many transitions in the next year, but he is a student who has already made many transitions in his life. Born in Brazil and now attending the European School Rhein Main, Eric shares his personal life experiences of adapting to divorce. Using his three-step strategy- let Eric’s story enlighten you to look at uncontrollable situations in a whole new light.

Ishaan Doranalli

The Dreamer
Ishann is one of the younger students participating in our TEDx event – but he has a lot to say when it comes to the benefits of technology in a changing world. Ishann is a S2 German student at the European School Rhein Main. His talk will focus on how he has navigated technology through COVID-19 times. Come out to listen to this lovely S2 student share both his experiences and optimism with you.

Miriam Janke

What is our shift to 2050? What does our journey look like? The challenges are huge. We have to shift our mindset and change our whole linear system. Miriam Janke is a 24 year old tech entrepreneur from Berlin. She is a startup mentor, advisor, speaker and was once appointed Vice Miss Germany Berlin. Her company Trilleco is in the Industrial IoT space, where they digitalize processes in enterprises by implementing their industrial IoT NoCode platform and different solutions. Miriam shares her journey of traveling the world for more than two years, shifting her mindset to a more circular way, and seeing the future through the eyes of generation Z as a Tech founder. Miriam’s talk emphasises many aspects such as value chains, the power-sector transformation, and the need to transition to emission-free mobility and adapt a critical infrastructure. Her talk highlights the challenge to achieve the net-zero goal within an ambitious timeline.

Niklas Linne

The Daily Decision Maker
Making a significant change begins with a single step. Niklas focuses his talk on the everyday decisions one makes and how they can be utilised to make life changing choices. Currently, Niklas is a S6 student attending the European School Rhein Main, and he aspires to one day make significant changes to the educational system. If you find yourself putting off important tasks until tomorrow, come out and see Niklas’ talk.

Rodrigo Hidalgo Cid

The Storyteller
Have you ever moved to three separate countries in a span of ten years? Rodrigo has, and he has a lot to share with you about adapting to new cultural norms. Born in Spain and now living in Frankfurt, Rodrigo is continuing his studies here at the European School Rhein Main. Let Rodrigo take you on a journey of his travels as he reflects on his struggles and perseverance through changing times across the globe.

Saumyaa Rastogi

The Social Navigator
With new advances in technology, come new addictions to technology. Saumyaa, a native Frankfurt student at the European School Rhein Main, has not only seen the negative impact of social media first-hand, but also has excellent advice on how to navigate through it and overcome it. So, if you can’t seem to put down your phone, you should come and listen to this TED talk!
