Laura Carstensen will sketch the perimeters. Dr. Carstensen is Professor of Psychology and the founding director of the Stanford Center on Longevity, which explores innovative ways to solve the problems of people over 50 and improve the well-being of people of all ages.
Suzanne Braun Levine is a writer, editor, and nationally recognized authority on women, family issues and media. She speaks about fear and the fertile void. She is the author of Inventing the Rest of Our Lives: Women in Second Adulthood and Fifty Is the New Fifty: Ten Life Lessons for Women in Second Adulthood.
Mary Catherine Bateson is a writer and cultural anthropologist. She looks at Act 3 of life from a anthropological and personal perspective. Her latest book, Composing a Further Life: The Age of Active Wisdom, describes Adulthood II, a life stage characterized by health, energy, continued learning and spiritual development that builds on years of diverse experience.
These women could be your mother, your grandmother, your neighbor or your friend. What they will share with us is insightful, funny and definitely relevant for the cohorts following them.
