Student
Hello, all! My name is Azaan Ali Khan. I am 17 years old, and I am from India (despite my appearance). I am a Year 13 student, and I am planning to study medicine in the future. My interests include playing football and cricket, public speaking and debating, and gaming occasionally. I hope that I will experience the thrill of speaking front of audiences and crowds more often in the near future, expressing myself on topics that I feel very strongly about. However, I hope that the time I spend speaking in front of a crowd leaves an impact on them.

Hi I’m Kaashvi, I’m in year 12 and joined DIA last year after moving from singapore. I have many different interests ranging from anthropology, the arts and economics. I love learning about the world and why humans behave the way that they do. Expressing creativity in the form of music, dance and poetry is also very important to me. I’m also very passionate about politics and social issues and want to do everything in my power to help make progress in such areas. My motto in life is “treat everyone how you would like to be treated” and I definitely value kindness and compassion. My dream career would be in the economics field as I love problem solving and thinking of creative solutions to real life issues.

Waleed Yousif
Student
Good Morning. My name is Waleed Yousif, I'm 17 years old and in my departing year of school. As a child who was always being told off for chattering in class, speaking has forever been a part of my identity. This became all the more true when I was, unknowingly, signed up for public speaking after school by my parents to keep me out of trouble. Little did I know speech writing and presenting would become one of my greatest hobbies. When I'm supposed to be finishing my numerous IA’s, I often prefer to listen to music and play instruments, which is something I do a lot. If not music then I usually love to go for long runs or play basketball in my community then come home and watch both sports on YouTube. To balance out the passtime, I have a great passion for science hence dispense my curiosity into reading scientific articles and related research. Being given the chance to share these hobbies and findings into public speaking through TEDx, I am highly enthused to be participating!
