In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxPetraUniversity is proud to present the first Technological TEDx event in Jordan entitled “The Art of Technology”, a day of inspirational and passion driven talks by young think, innovators, Business men and entrepreneurs. This event offers an already growing community of exceptional Jordanian talents the spotlight,
TEDx style to share inspirational stories and experiences related to Technology.

TEDxPetraUniversity will be a great opportunity for Jordanian to engage in forward thinking ideas, initiatives and remarkable projects, setting new standards for Technological Creative thinking and self-learning to younger generations of curious minds in Jordan.

Founder & UX Consultant

a UX Mentor | Evangelist | Consultant with more than 18 years of experience in UX, Multimedia & IT fields, based now in Jordan. UX Consultant, that is a fancy way of saying he plans how to present the things you see on your computer screen, so that they are easy to understand, engaging and compelling. Things like the navigation, forms, categories and words on intranets, websites, web applications and business systems. Doing this professionally since 2006; while he was studying Master’s in Australia, he designed & evaluated User Interfaces of many business applications, websites and machines, his passion about User Experience is endless. He established "Jordan UX Community" to raise awareness about UX topics in MENA, and he is a regular speaker at conferences about Education, Multimedia & UX topics. Ahmad believe that "Knowledge must be free for all" and "Understanding the user is the most important aspect in creating a successful product!"

Fouad Jeryes

CEO & Founder

an early entrepreneur who continues to work and invest in the Middle Eastern Technology scene; particularly in Jordan. A business technologist by education, Fouad was Director of Technology & Analytics at Open Insights LLC. and has offered technical as well as strategic consulting to top tier telecom, software & internet giants such as Google, Microsoft, Verizon & others. He also served as “Chief Rascal” (product & business development manager) at Arabic social entertainment portal,d1g.com. Additionally, he was part of the team that started up Jordan’s first technology accelerator and incubation program, Oasis 500, where he built and grew the mentor & angel investor networks. Later, to capitalize on the efforts in the Jordanian eco-system, Fouad co-founded a high impact, free and open, monthly tech gathering titled Amman Tech Tuesdays. Fouad is currently pursuing new projects that solve pains and enable payments and commerce space throughout MENA with PayHyper & CashBasha.com

Hussein Al-Bahadili

Associate Professor

an associate professor and Master Program Director at Petra University-Faculty of Information Technology (Amman-Jordan) since 2010. He received his B.Sc degree in Engineering from University of Baghdad, Iraq, in 1986. and his M.Sc and Ph.D degrees from University of London - Queen Mary College (London, United Kingdom) in 1988 and 1991, respectively. He is a visiting researcher at the Centre of Wireless Networks and Communications (WNCC), University of Brunel (UK). He is an editor of a book on Simulation of Computer Network Design and Modeling: Use and Analysis published by IGI-Global. He has published more than 50 papers in leading journals and world- level scholarly conferences.

Khalid El Ahmad

Social Media Manager

Khaled Elahmad is passionate about social media and has the ability to translate concepts into strong social media campaigns which connect with online communities. Elahmad is currently managing Social Media Department at Zain Jordan, and was the Digital Director for the Jordanian Government, where he managed social media for the Prime Minister and the Government as a whole back in 2011. Khaled is also a consultant and a social media trainer for private and public brands, who held many Social Media workshops in the MENA region.

Rashid Shobaki

Software engineer at heart, entrepreneur by nature. rashid is driven, talented, and observant,often seeing opportunities that others miss. I am always fascinated by new technologies and looking for new possibilities all around me; I have worked in both startup and corporate companies. I can be a cooperative part of any team, but at the same time I can be a full stack engineer. I love to work in a challenging environment where excellence is the norm.
