In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Andrea Villeneuve

For over 25 years, Andrea Villeneuve has consulted and advised businesses in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom on start-up, culture, and growth planning. She can be found speaking online and sharing knowledge on company culture, diversity, business growth, and brand development. Andrea has been a partner in an IT and digital branding company for 22 years, with multiple award nominations for women-owned businesses and women in technology. In addition, she has 30 years of Board Leadership in the not-for-profit sector. Seeing a gap in current needs, Andrea was one of the principal developers of a transitional program for youth with Autism to train into IT sector employment pre-launch. Her passion for inclusion advocacy stems from personal experiences and needs and for the past 14 years has included advocacy work in education, community, and leading to her current position as Manager of Employee Development for a Winnipeg not for profit.

Douglene Jackson

Douglene is an occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience. She was a former president of the Florida Occupational Therapy Association. She is a current board member of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation. She is the first black occupational therapy practitioner or student to be present on any TEDx stage in the world.
