Theme: Value Transition

Humans have been chasing after the concept of “Value”. Things we do, pains we taste, all ultimately lead to constructing the legacy of one’s life.
Though, if “Value” was apparently created by one man and only belonged to him, wouldn’t that be arrogant and selfish?
Arrogant, for we are simple grains of sand among this endless spacetime, where one’s contribution is built upon the value of thousands of predecessors. Selfish, for one’s achievement, loses its value if kept to himself, away from the next generation.
Reaching “Value” requires “Transition”. That is the reason why the club of English and skill Skillcetera has gained the license to organize TEDxFPTUniversityHCMC season 2, with the topic “Value Transition”, inspired by the image of “Chim Lac” throughout. The transition, inheritance, and enhancement of the value of the predecessors are not only a challenge, but also an opportunity for students to grasp, preserve, promote, and spread our traditional values across the world. These values take wings by “Chim Lac”, as a connection between the past, present, and future, connecting the elite arduously devoted and preserved by artisans, artists, professionals, and resurrected, facilitated, nurtured, and aggrandized by the youth as the successors.

Kathy Uyen is a Vietnamese-American Film Director, Actress and Co-Founder/CEO of A.C.T Academy. Kathy with A.C.T Academy has strived for advancement and contribution to Vietnam's cinema with lifetime works as well as outstanding actors under her talented guidance. On the passionate acting path, Kathy has achieved remarkable achievements. 2009's "Passport to Love" became Kathy's first film in Vietnam to win the Golden Kite Award for Best Supporting Actress in Vietnam. A year later, she continued to leave an impression in the heart of the audience via the role of "Mai", creating the box office phenomenon "Fool to Love". It is impossible not to mention "Chi Chi Em Em", a psychological thriller, taken on by Kathy as Co-Writer and Director. Robin is a multi-disciplinary artist focused on Film Direction and Creative direction. He is the co-founder of the creative studio monopo Saigon (Vietnam), owner of Perdide studios (China and Vietnam), and director at Robin & Cako. Although he grew up in a multicultural family, he has found his home in Asia. Fascinated by traditions and the ever-growing youth culture, Robin concentrates on creating compelling storytelling and innovative visual experiences. Robin has been a multi-awarded director, working worldwide for international brands (Louis Vuitton, Adidas, Cartier, Onitsuka Tiger...) and renowned artists.
