Jayne Hrdlicka
Jayne Hrdlicka is the Chief Executive Officer of the Virgin Australia Group. Since joining Virgin Australia in November 2020, Jayne has managed the transformation of the airline under new ownership in a difficult operating environment dominated by COVID-19. Jayne has 20 years leadership experience in the consumer and aviation sectors. Prior to joining Virgin Australia, Jayne was CEO of the a2 Milk Company, and prior to that Jayne held leadership roles at Qantas Group for nearly a decade, where she led the design of Qantas Airlines. She also was the CEO of the Jetstar Group for 6 years delivering significant improvement in customer experience across all airlines as well as substantial growth in revenue and earnings. Jayne currently serves as Chair of Tennis Australia and is a member of the Hawaiian Airlines’ Board of Directors. Formerly, Jayne was a Non-Executive Board Director of Woolworths, was a former senior partner with Bain & Company and leader in the firm’s Customer Strategy and Marketing Practice.
Lesley Cheng
Dr. Lesley Cheng is an early career Postdoctoral researcher, with a PhD Scholarship for Neuroscience and a trained Cell and Molecular Biologist investigating neuronal death and survival. Currently, her research focuses on developing diagnostic tests for the detection of early onset Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. Recently she spoke at Tedx Melbourne and today we have the honour of hearing her ground breaking research in not only degenerative diseases but health conditions of all types. It's a step towards personalised medicine and a glimpse of the future of medicine.
Lucy Barrat
Lucy Barrat is a teacher and wellbeing advocate who has worked in education for 12 years. Her experiences in residential, secondary and primary education settings were the catalysts for her to explore the social and emotional learning space for young people. This has led her to complete her Masters in Education specialising in Student Wellbeing and her current studies in Psychology. Along with classroom experiences, Lucy has done work for the wellbeing organisations The Resilience Project and The Man Cave developing their content and curriculum. Lucy is passionate about supporting young adults in becoming exceptional communicators, critical problems solvers and resilient individuals with a developing sense of who they are and who they wish to be. Today she will be speaking about how Social Intelligence, a key skill of effective leadership, can be developed through Social Media use.
Mike Yang
A young entrepreneur, Mike Yang is the managing director of Modern Group. Mike has been instrumental in some of the well-known commercial deals with the A-League, NBL just to name a few.
Before venturing into business Mike was Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ senior advisor (2011-2013) on media and in China. With an abundance of experience, Mike will be sharing his experiences and interactions with influential women and women in leadership.

Sister Angela Mary Doyle
Sister Angela Mary Doyle RSM AO is an exemplary leader who is nationally recognised for her work as a hospital administrator and for her early advocacy for the support and care of Queenslanders with HIV/AIDS. Immigrating from Ireland to Brisbane in 1947, Sister Angela Mary followed her vocation as a Sister of Mercy and was called to train as a nurse. In 1966, she was appointed Administrator of the three Mater public hospitals in Brisbane, a position she held for 21 years. This period covered some of the most transformative years in the Mater’s history. Her diverse achievements in life have been widely recognised. Sister Angela Mary has received an Order of Australia, a Centenary Medal, been named Queenslander of the Year, Executive Woman of the Year, Australia Day Citizen of the Year and a Queensland Great. Her business successes saw her inducted into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame.
