In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dionisios Pnevmatikatos

Dionysios Pnevmatikatos received a degree in Computer Science from the University of Crete in 1989, as well as a Master's and Doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1991 and 1996 respectively. Since September 2019 he is a Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. Also, from 2000 to 2019 he was a professor at the EMMY school of the Technical University of Crete where he was Director of the Laboratory of Microprocessors and Material and president of the respective department. He has been a Research Fellow at the Institute for Research and Technology (ITE) since 1997, has been the Coordinator for the European Research Project FASTER (FP7) and has been and is the Founding Officer for the European Research Projects DeSyRe (FP7), AXIOM, EXTRA20 ), and in several national projects. His research interests include Computer Architecture with a focus on the use of Rearranged Logic to create efficient accelerators in heterogeneous parallel systems. In addition, he has worked in the design of Reliable systems, architectures for accelerating applications in hardware or with rearranged logic, network packet processors, etc. He is a regular member of Program Committees at key conferences in his area such as ISCA, FPL and DATE in the subjects of Computer Architecture and Rearranged Systems.

Erofili Kokkali

Throughout her everyday life, art in every aspect has been accompanying her. Erofili is an author and an actress. For the last years she has been active at the Athens Checkpoint of Positive Voice as a sexual health consultant. With her stories she is not aiming for self promotion. On the contrary, she is giving space to share ideas, self-examination and dialogue. Evangelos Gazis

Evangelos Gazis received a degree in Physics from the Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1973, as well as a Master's and Doctoral Degree at the "Demokritos" research center and the Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1978 and 1980 respectively. Indicatively, he was a Visiting Professor at the Department of Physics at CERN (2009-2011) and a Visiting Professor at the Department of Physics at Lund University in Sweden (2007 to date). He has been a Professor at the School of Applied Mathematics and Natural Sciences of NTUA since 1983. He is also a co-author of more than 640 scientific publications in international scientific journals in Particle Physics, with over 23,500 citations, and author of international monographs on the muon detection spectrometer at the CERN ATLAS Collaboration (2000) and in 11 journals. and notes on the NTUA. Regarding his International Research Experience, he was Coordinator of the Greek Research Teams in the ATLAS and CLIC experiments of CERN and the CERN-GREECE Working Committee, but also National Representative at the CERN Council, from 2005 to 2012. He has also been the Coordinator of Greek research teams in the FP7: AIDA program, (development of detectors for future experiments) and in the FP7 program: EDUSAFE (development of an Augmented Reality system of ATLAS detector radioactivity). His current research interests concern the development of a new detection system, the micro-megas, for the search for new physics in the upcoming experiments, as well as the development of a strong Greek research team in the design and construction of the new generation CLIC accelerator at CERN. In addition, he works for the implementation of the hadronic cancer treatment program with technology transfer from CERN in our country, with his participation in the European program FP7: CLIMB for the development of RF-linac infrastructure for medical applications. At the same time, he coordinates the training of Teachers and Students of Secondary Education throughout Greece on the issues of CERN (940 from 2008 until today).

Fiori Zafeiopoulou

Fiori is an academic and a social entrepreneur; holds an award-winning Ph.D. on Social Franchising & Social Entrepreneurship, and is Research Fellow on Combatting Human Rights Violations in Fashion Industry Supply Chains. She is the Director of the Observatory for Ethical & Circular Fashion and the Sustainable Fashion Summer School. She is the Country Coordinator of the global movement Fashion Revolution.org in Greece, the Coordinator of Raise Your Voice Festival co-organized by 56 State Bodies & NGOs to end human trafficking and act on the climate crisis. Founder of Social Fashion Factory – SOFFA.gr that targets gender empowerment and work integration of women victims of trafficking and the environmental regeneration and writer a novel. She is the founder of the Refergon.com employment refugee matching platform, founder of the rebirth of the iconic Zita Hellas Sneakers brand, and founder of The Nest Centre on Social Entrepreneurship. Her research has been published in international conferences and research books.

Hasta Brassta

Hasta Brassta is a newly formed, original band consisting of two trumpets, two trombones, saxophone, tuba and drums. With the special style of brass instruments and the energy they bring out, with the hiphop-RnB-Pop groove sounds they play and with a dose of madness that characterizes them, Hasta Brassta excites every crowd and transforms any place wherever they are at a party.Their purpose is to give a different status to the brass instruments and to play music in the way they like. They consist of 7 different people with different artistic education, influences and beliefs but with one thing in common: music. The idea of the Brass Band enables them to cover pieces from different music genres and to create a music performance that expresses and above all everyone enjoys.

Maria Argyri Chrysi Tzavla

Maria Argyri is a graduate student in the violin class and an undergraduate student at NKUA's Department of Music Studies. She has performed with the Hellenic Youth Symphony Orchestra (ELSON), Camerata Junior, El Sistema Europe, and the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra. Chrysi Tzavla earned her violin degree with honors and is a graduate student at NKUA's Department of Music Studies. She has performed with the Athens Philharmonic, the Sinfonietta Hellenica, the Camerta Junior, the Athenian Youth Symphony Orchestra (ASON), and the Hellenic-Turkish Youth Orchestra, among others. They both enjoy expressing themselves through music and, most importantly, collaborating to provide their audiences with unforgettable musical experiences.

Marios Fragkoulis

Marios is a postdoctoral researcher at Delft University in the Netherlands where he is researching scalable data management problems. He has a PhD in main memory data analysis technologies from the Management Science and Technology department of AUEB and a master's degree in computer science from Imperial College London. He has worked as a software engineer in the cloud computing of GRNET and in large scale data infrastructures in COSMOTE. Marios has published in leading conferences and journals in the field such as SIGMOD, ICDE, EuroSys, and IEEE TC. He teaches courses in data management, computer science, and information systems administration at AUEB and UOA (University of Athens). He is the co-creator of the Clonos and dgsh opensource projects. Marios is a member of the technical board of Hazelcast Inc., a startup based in Silicon Valley. His speech focuses on opensource code, thus analyzing the area that made the concept of Ubuntu known to the western world, which is the software Linux program Ubuntu.

Marios Aristotelis Koulouris

Marios Aristotelis Koulouris is a graduate of Sociology and holds a Master's degree in Sociology from Panteion University, specializing in the Sociology of Suicide. He is also a graduate of the Department of Psychology of Panteion University and for the last year he maintains on YouTube a social science communication channel called "soc science tube", where he presents sociological and psychological studies, always with bibliographic references and given with a critical and pleasant presentation. His talk focuses on the sociological interpretation of the Ubuntu concept, focusing on the "how" and "why" we exist through others.

Marva Von Theo

At times darksome and dancey, but mostly introspective, gripping and moony, Marva Von Theo find their way through the dark synth music to twilight electro pop, representing a multi-layered work of innovative and compelling songwriting with expressive vocals and refined orchestration. Their sounds, melodies, rhythms and aesthetics cover a wide, contradictory spectrum, infused with their very own, distinctive vocabulary. Away from the old-school and the previous dogmas, they feel free to experiment, to take risks as artists and define themselves within the vast world of what is broadly called pop music. Marva Von Theo sound futuristic, fierce, passionate, restless, noisy, risky, sophisticated, fragile, melancholic, darkly romantic, sensitive. They have released two studio albums, “Dream within a Dream” (2018) and “Afterglow” (2021). Among their performances at various festivals and venues, the most distinguished ones are those at Linecheck Festival (IT) and Athens Music Week (GR) but also as the opening act for Hooverphonic (BE), Molly Nillson (DE) and Motorama (RU).

Sandra Mavroidi

Sandra Mavroidi is a teacher and a founding member of the elementary school "Trianemi". She holds a law degree and also she worked in theater. As a mother, she met Waldorf Steiner systems. She studied Pedagogy, to create a school. It is inspired by the need for a healthy school reality for children, considering it to be the main way to support their individuality and social development, but also with the hope of humanity for a better future.

Simone & the Bodyterraneans

Simone Mongelli and his collaborators present Bodyterranean, a music-kinetic project that is original in Greece and abroad. The research of the Italian artist on the musical traditions of the two Mediterranean countries and his in-depth involvement with the musical language of Body Music, led to the creation of the eponymous album. The album in turn became a show. In his own conception, orchestration and direction and together with Sissy Pintela, Fotis Fotopoulos, Michalis Kotsogiannis, Natalia Lampadaki and Selini Filippitzis, they sing, dance, mix with body percussion and body, with percussion and vocal, we travel to the Mediterranean. Body + Mediterranean… Bodyterranean! Especially for TEDx | NTUA, they made a small mosaic of pieces from the show. From Halkidiki to a rebetiko stage and from Macedonia to Italy and back to Thrace, within 10 minutes, there were characteristic excerpts full of polyrhythms, polyphonies, intensity, atmosphere, movement and humor! UNITY VYBZ

The UNITY VYBZ group is a dancing Mega Crew from Athens, which started with 4 people in September 2018 and to date is a group of 20 members. The group is led by Sarah Ganem, a choreographer and dancer who gives her own unique note to every dance work she composes. At TEDx NTUA, UNITY VYBZ will take us to the distant Caribbean with their choreography which is based on Dancehall, a genre it has influences from traditional African & Jamaican dances. Emphasizing collective talent, the UNITY VYBZ team will remind us of what Ubuntu has taught us about unity and collective creativity through a riveting dance.

Vasileios Chatzikos

Having completed his studies at the University of Sheffield in England in 2004 and graduating as a Doctor of Engineering specializing in iterative Learning Control systems, he chose to return to Greece and pursue a career in business. The beginning, as a field engineer in technical projects, was a conscious choice which enabled him to connect his theoretical studies with the natural environment of engineering and the connection of these two different worlds while offering him the bases for his subsequent presence in high executive positions of large companies in marketing, sales departments and now holding the position of general manager in a multinational technology group. The basic values that govern his career are hard work, passion and commitment to the goal which are the basic triptych of a successful career. His speech aims to highlight the strength of the team in an ever-changing environment, emphasizing how the career path of each is (co)shaped by the people around him.

Zervas, Drogosis, Manona Musicians

For a song to become known, luck is necessary too. But, in the town of “Antelma”, they believe that the diamonds never get lost. At some point, they will shine in the dark and a young or old child will discover them. From the “Lights that go out” to the “Hurried bird of the South”, Stathis Drogosis presents himself as a musician that writes songs and that’s what he wants to be remembered for. With a sweet melancholy, he will speak to us through his songs about paternity, about love and about our city, too. He is accompanied by the upcoming songwriter and singer Eleonora Mamona and the cello soloist Aris Zervas. Stathis Drogosis holds a degree in piano with studies in advanced theory and percussion for orchestra. He started his music career in 1999 as a member of the band "The lights that go out" and his personal career in 2001 as a songwriter and orchestrator. Central milestones in his career are the releases of the albums "The lights that go out", "Winter will not come", "Love at the end" and "18+". He has collaborated with Manolis Famellos, Nikos Portokaloglou, Nikos Ziogalas, Giannis Kotsiras, Filippo Pliatsika and others. He has also appeared in dozens of solidarity concerts organized by cinematic collectives. Finally, from October 2020, he has his own radio show in the Second program entitled "Antelma". Eleonora Manona holds a degree in piano and harmony. She works as a piano and music kinetics teacher in schools and conservatoires of Athens as well as as a musician in orchestras and ensembles. She has created her own project since 2017 called Nora's Cinematic, through which she released in 2017 her first album entitled "Somewhere i". Finally, in 2020 released Eleonora's first record duet with singer Stathis Drogosis, entitled "Sto Pagrati", in her own music and lyrics by Stathis. Aris Zervas holds a degree in cello from the Filippos Nakas Conservatoire and has studied at the Rotterdam Academy of Music. He has participated in various orchestras and ensembles, such as the A.S.O , Rotterdam Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Athenian Youth Symphony Orchestra as a first cello. He makes permanent appearances with Natassa Bofiliou, Giota Nega, Stathis Drogosis, Manolis Famellos and Monika. At the same time, he has edited the recordings and orchestrations of songs for theatrical performances and for the film "Ouzeri Tsitsanis" (2015). Finally, he has released two solo albums "Tell me salty sea" (2017) and "Human Land" (2021).

Υannis Zambelis

Υannis Zambelis or Joza.Ink is a tattoo artist and engaged in painting. He has studied dentistry but he has always wanted to be involved in art. He studied for a while at the school of fine arts, but he dropped out. He worked as a tattoo artist initially in Greece and for the last five years, he has been moving from city to city all over the world.
