Dr. Hazel Ruth Edwards, professor and former chair of Howard University’s Department of Architecture of the College of Engineering and Architecture, was the first female department chair since 1911. Her training in architecture, urban design and city planning enables multidisciplinary approaches to complex urban challenges.
