In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Chelsea Cook

Assistant Professor at the Marquette University Biological Sciences Department
Dr. Chelsea Cook is a recent addition to the Biological Sciences department at Marquette University as an assistant professor. Previously, she has worked in New York, Colorado, and Arizona before coming to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She runs the Cook Lab on campus, specializing in the neurobiology and behavioral research of honeybees.

Melissa Shew

Dr. Melissa Shew is a visiting professor at Marquette University. She specializes in Philosophy and is specifically interested in the History of Philosophy, especially Ancient Philosophy; Continental Philosophy, especially feminism, non-Western, and philosophy of the arts; Philosophy of Education.

Michelle Rodrigues

Professor at the Marquette University Department of Social and Cultural Sciences
Dr. Michelle Rodrigues is an assistant professor at Marquette University in the Department of Social and Cultural Sciences teaching biological anthropology. A primatologist and biological anthropologist, her research focuses on friendship, social networks, and stress in monkeys, apes and humans and ranges from the University of Illinois all the way across the globe to El Zota Biological Field Station in Costa Rica and numerous places in between. She is a member of the IUCN Primate Specialist Group Section for Human-Primate Interactions and an advocate for the conservation of primates, hoping to decolonize primatology.
