Cbabi Bayoc
Cbabi(pronounced Kuh-bob-bi)Bayoc is a visual artist and illustrator. His work can be identified through unique, bold and colorful artistry, while adding some “phunk”. Musician Prince, a fan and collector of Bayoc’s, selected one of his masterpieces to be featured on his 2001 album, Rainbow Children. Bayoc continued to excel throughout the years where he draws inspiration from personal experiences, community engagement, world issues, education and so much more. If you were to visit St. Louis, you will probably see Bayoc’s masterpieces on/in homes, hospitals, residential buildings, within small businesses and major corporations, throughout schools, in libraries and other areas where appreciation of art can be acknowledged.
Joe Steensma
Joseph Steensma’s work exemplifies “transdisciplinary”. In addition to being a successful scientist and entrepreneur who has founded and led several thriving businesses focused on sustainability, he also conducts groundbreaking research in environmental health as a Professor at Washington University in St Louis. His research has taken him all over the world where he has seen firsthand the myriad impacts of a rapidly changing climate. Joe’s work at the nexus of the economic, ecologic, political and cultural systems has given him a unique view into the macro and micro level impacts of climate change.
Theresa Carrington
Theresa Carrington set out to address the issue of extreme poverty. Her organization sought out impoverished artisan makers to produce baskets, with a mission to help them sustainably exit extreme poverty. Theresa and her team discovered the tipping point from extreme poverty to prosperity came when an artisan sold ten products a month for three years. The project was officially renamed to Ten by Three®, catapulting this sustainable formula into the spotlight and helping grow beyond baskets. This formula has been successfully replicated in 8 developing nations throughout three continents. Theresa has been internationally recognized for her work including by the United Nations.
