With over 1.3 billion citizens in our country, every single citizen is entitled to education, health care, rations, water, roads, and safety. At the same time, we need to care for our environment, our wildlife, our natural resources, and our people.

The steel frame that makes all these services accessible to the length and breadth of this country is the civil service. In a nation as diverse in language, terrain, and culture as India, it is up to the men and women of the civil service to constantly innovate to come up with solutions that match the time and the challenge.

Cabinet Minister & Environmentalist | Cabinet Minister - Environment, Tourism & Protocol, Government of Maharashtra

Aaditya Uddhav Thackeray is one of the youngest Indian politicians serving as Cabinet Minister, Environment, Tourism & Protocol, Government of Maharashtra. He is also an MLA of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Mumbai. He is the President of Yuva Sena, a youth wing of Shiv Sena. He has been instrumental in bringing prominent environmental issues to the forefront and is also spearheading changes across Maharashtra’s Tourism Policy.

Ankush Shinde is a celebrated Police Officer with a career spanning over 30 years. He has been awarded the President's Police Medal for his service. He has been successful in creating impact with his work in communally sensitive places and has formidably handled many law and order issues in areas like Bhiwandi, Malegaon, and Nashik.

Dr. Rajendra Bharud (IAS)

District Administrator & Author | IAS Officer, District Collector, Nandurbar, Government of Maharashtra

Rajendra Bharud is currently appointed as the District collector of Nandurbar District in Maharashtra, where he administers and implements the schemes of the government across various state departments. He overlooks election related work, disaster (like Covid) mitigation, revenue recovery, drought handling, district planning, law and order, and direct monitoring on urban local bodies like Nagarpanchayat. He is also an author who has penned - ‘Mi Ek Swapn Pahil’ in Marathi.

G. Guruprasad (IFoS)

Wildlife Advocate and Conservationist | Deputy Director, Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra Forest Department

G Guruprasad is currently assigned as the Deputy Director at Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. He is responsible for the management and protection of the forest and wildlife spanning 1,30,000 hectares of land. He has been instrumental in advocating eco-tourism and is focussed on mitigating any man-animal conflicts that may arise. With an ever-lasting passion and fondness for nature and animals, he continues to strive for mutual co-existence of the people and the wildlife.

R. Vimala (IAS)

Women Empowerment Champion | IAS Officer, Mission Director Jal Jeevan Mission, Government of Maharashtra

R. Vimala has over 29 years of experience in the government. As the Mission Director for Jal Jeevan Mission, she has helped develop over 4.8 lakh self-help groups, associating with over 50 lakh families and generating sustainable livelihoods for 18 lakh households and counting. Her work has focused on Sustainable Development Goals, specifically health, nutrition and sanitation.

Sharad Ughade

Public Spaces Innovator | Assistant Commissioner, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Government of Maharashtra

Sharad Ughade has a penchant for public spaces and he has been instrumental in bringing back many public spaces to life in Mumbai. He has initiated several environment preservation projects with public participation in the Mumbai suburbs and has been successful in carrying out large scale public projects across Bandra.
