Theme: Flow and Abundance | life as movement and shared prosperity

This event occurred on
October 23, 2021
Altos de Chavón, La Romana
Dominican Republic

/////

We are excited to bring together a select group of 11 world class changemakers for an inspiring evening of sharing unique stories, experiences and ideas worth spreading at Altos de Chavón Amphitheater on October 23 2021.

Under our unifying theme of FLOW AND ABUNDANCE: Life as Movement and Shared Prosperity, we invite you to join us on a unique journey of social mobility, transformation and exploration in personal and collective growth, learning about sustainable fashion, the challenges of repopulation coral reefs and reintroducing manatees in the wild, transforming the sargassum threat to profit, changing our communities through dance and art and how kids brains and potentials literally explode when exposed to hands on creative challenges with technology and robotics. And that’s just half of our program.

Why Flow? Beyond resilience and normality, beyond adapting and recovering, there is flow. Flow requires mindfulness and mindfulness comes from focus in the here and now as a single step part of the long walk our lives are made of. And so we move, forward, sideways, sometimes a little backwards, often even on split paths, but we move, for life is movement.

Why Abundance? Abundance is often associated with the notion that there is plenty for everyone. While prosperity is often associated with individual achievement and success. In our case, both are one and the same and that's why we talk about shared prosperity. Abundance without prosperity, ends up creating waste or scarcity. Individual prosperity without creating abundance, creates exclusion and scarcity as well. And so we embrace Abundance as the manifestation of shared prosperity. Where we take the plentifulness of life and its bountiful opportunities and turn them into prosperity through our hard work and focus, but not just individual prosperity. Prosperity that we share, so that we can maintain, refill, refuel, expand abundance and make it grow.

About TED and TEDx

TED is an annual event that brings together the world's leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in any discipline — technology, entertainment, design, science, humanities, business, development. The talks at the conference, called TED Talks, are then made available to watch for free on TED.com.
In the spirit of "ideas worth spreading", TED has created TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connections. TEDxLaRomana is not organized by TED Conferences, but is operated under a license from TED.
