TEDxHansrajCollege is an initiative that has evolved from a desire, the desire of spreading tales and ideas to foster learning and wonder, to ingrain a sparkle, and to provoke conversations that matter.

TEDx Countdown is a global initiative to champion and accelerates solutions to the climate crisis by turning ideas into action. The goal is to build a better future by cutting greenhouse emissions in half by 2030 in the race to a zero-carbon world- a world that is safer, greener, and fairer to everyone.

Child Environmental Activist

Licypriya Kangujam dropped out of her school in February 2019 to protest every week in front of the Parliament House of India to pass a Climate Law. Honored with the World Children Peace Prize Laureate 2019, Noble Citizen Award 2020, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Children Award 2019, India Peace Prize 2019 and many more she is amongst the “Top 100 Child Prodigies of the World 2020”. Licypriya is Youngest green Climate Change Activist and the founder of the The Child Movement.

Sangram Singh’s life is riddled with adversities and his unending belief in himself which helped him overcome them all. Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, confined to his bed for the first eight year of his life, Sangram Singh went on to become a wrestler, actor, motivational speaker, philanthropist and health guru. He was awarded the Title of the World’s Best Wrestler by the World Wrestling Professionals. He is a firm believer of the fact that your family is the anchor when the waters get rough.

Smita Singhal

Entrepreneur and Innovator

Working on a revolutionary idea and life-changing innovation, Smita Singhal, Director of Absolute Water Pvt. Ltd., converts sewage water into clean water that can be used for various things, and the residue is used for horticulture purposes. In her talk, she gives a glimpse of how she came up with the idea of water treatment and how passionately she made it a reality. She shows that one has to truly have a passion for an idea to drive it through the challenges and make it successful. She gave an insight into how educating the government and customers and winning their confidence in the system was important. She raises the hope that the younger generation would serve towards a greener and cleaner environment.

Sumaira Abdulali

Environmentalist

Sumaira Abdulali is a founder of the NGO Awaaz Foundation and Convenor of the Movement against Intimidation, Threat and Revenge against Activists (MITRA) and is currently a Governing Council Member. She has a goal to achieve zero sand mining, to accomplish she regularly addresses the issue on numerous global platforms and urges to have inclusive development for which she said, “The only mantra to this is using a master tool ‘social media’ for voicing out opinions on environmental issues”. The social work she does for the environment makes her "one of India's foremost environmental activists."

Varun Rajput

Varun Rajput is a composer, guitar player and singer. Best known for his work as the founder, guitarist and leader of Indian rock band, Antariksh. Antariksh is a premier Hindi-rock band devoted to creating fresh and innovative music borrowing nuances from Rock, Pop, Reggae, Carnatic, and Funk music. With over 10 years of experience as a music professional Varun has conducted over 500 concerts. As a music producer, Varun has produced ad jingles for over 20 international brands such as Chevrolet, Reckitt Benckiser, Idea, Wingify etc.

A firm believer of the saying ‘Our planet Our responsibility’, Mr.Vivek Sharma talks about the much-needed repercussions and dearth of the changing and deteriorating climate change. Throughout his talk, he emphasizes the current challenge of how both humans and nature can thrive by building a comparison between countries and present and ancient times. Focusing now on the solutions, Mr. Vivek focuses on five goals which include zero carbon, return the ocean to good health, reimagine success, eliminate waste, and minimize the space we use. Talking more about the solutions, he also talks about Corporate social responsibility, which indicates the importance of the corporate world to focus on giving back to planet earth. Mr. Sharma also throws light on the top 10 companies in the world that have the best reputation for participation in environmental sustainability activities.
