Our event aims at impacting the community by creating awareness among them.
We would be inviting speakers from various walks of life to showcase their infinite contributions which have thereby made contributed by making a difference to the society.Our theme for this year is IKIGAI EFFECT-The Myriad Mission which is a sneak peak into one's mission of life, signifying the relation between life’s limitless purposes and the mission to accomplish them. Our event aims at impacting the community by creating awareness among them. This event will exhibit an array of exuberant entrepreneurs, ambitious achievers and sociable self-starters who stood tall in times of difficulty. They succeeded and accomplished, distinction and acknowledgement virtuously based out of their aptitude, diligence and determination. They are a few among the many affluent stories of our community who have been exclusively and carefully selected. These eminent individuals will stimulate, encompass and encourage the intellect of the society. Team TEDxPowai is gratified and humbled to bring them upon this stage.

Dr. Swaroop Sampat Rawal

Life Skills Educator, Thespian, Authoress, Mentor

Dr Swaroop Sampat Rawal is an actor and teacher. She was chosen as one of the top ten teachers of the world for the Global Teacher Prize, 2019. Her chosen path is one of development and transformation; of love for the students of the nation. Her lessons are not confined to the walls of one classroom; they extend to the rural arena where her scope for caring, compassionate and selfless service is unique. Swaroop’s students range from children in nurseries to young adults following their post-graduate degrees in Universities. She has a double PhD, one in Education (2006) and the second a Doctor of Letters (2017) both from the University of Worcester, UK.

Mr Chitresh Sharma

CEO & Founder at Refyne, Forbes 30u30 Europe 2017, Co founder Swipii Labs Ltd

A Techpreneur who started his journey in the world of startups at 19. With two-pillar companies both going for almost a decade,his first venture is an IT outsource company which focuses on digital marketing expertise and IT consultation with clients in the hospitality sector and government contracts spread across India, Dubai and UK. He lead his second venture Swipii as the CEO and founder which went on to become one of the leading customer loyalty firms with 3000 brands including renowned brands like Coca-Cola and Mars. Swipii being among the top 100 fastest growing business in the UK he was awarded Forbes 30 u 30 Europe being among the top 100 Asian entrepreneurs in UK. He was invited to represent India with the Royal family and is one of the 5 founders to be invited to help in advising the future of tech in Scotland. His current project Refyne in India in the fin tech sector has closed the venture funding with some of the worlds biggest investors.

Mr. Ajay Sangwan

Founder, Director Nyokas Technologies, Fashion Technologist, Alumni NIFT Delhi

Ajay is a passionate fashion Technologist who has developed an eco-system for High-Tech clothes in India. His journey began in 2012 with R&D in smart textiles during NIFT, Delhi . In 2017,he founded Nyokas, an ultra smart clothing start-up empowering lives of people with Fashion Technology. The company develops products with Indian Defense to make Individual Protection system for Indian Army. Clothes are the first layer to skin and can be enhanced to perform more than aesthetics than only covering the body, through Nano-Science and Fashion Technology. His life principles include to be in the moment and not the body. He is conscientious and strives to achieve the target of his venture being named the most innovative smart clothing company in India.

Mr. Gaurav Gambhir

D-Cypher, Indian Beat Box Champion, Bombay Lokal member, Hip Hop Sensation

While you may know Gaurav as the beatboxer in the Bollywood flix Gully Boy's 'Asli Hip Hop' and 'Jingostan Beatbox', Gaurav Gambhir AKA D-Cypher is a well-known name in the Indian Underground Hip Hop Community. He is a part of Mumbai-based hip hop collective Bombay Lokal. D-Cypher was recently acknowledged by Hip Hop Mogul 'LL Cool J' when he performed for him on an Insta live not once but 4 times.He's been beatboxing at ciphers and venues with his crew since the past 9 years, and was crowned as the ‘Vice Indian Beatbox Champion’ at the Indian Beatbox Championship 2018, along with his partner BeatRAW, in the Tag Team Category.

Ms Ananya Chhaochharia

Social Activist, Inter sectional feminist, Political Strategist, Enterprising leader

Ananya Chhaochharia is an intersectional feminist working at the crossroads of gender and politics. Ananya transitioned from her well-paying job as a political consultant to initiate Paint it Red, a non- profit organization that advocates for menstrual rights and reduction of period poverty in India. As a 25-year old young changemaker, Ananya identifies the need to build collective movements to challenge systemic issues in the country. She has dedicatedly nurtured young leaders to enter the public policy and development sector. She has been accepted into Harvard Kennedy School to pursue her Masters in Public Policy and was the only Indian to be shortlisted for AFS Global Youth Award in 2020 for her efforts in destigmatizing periods and provide relief to those who can’t afford or access it.

Ms Arpana Rao

Founder- Director AMNA, Proficient Dancer, Mentor, Registered Examiner

Ms Arpana Rao is the Director: Arpana Mahuaa Nritya Academy (AMNA). She started dancing at the tender age of 6 years, after which there was no looking back. Her love and passion for Kathak prompted her to start Arpana Mahuaa Nritya Academy in 2011, to nurture youngsters into this fine art. Arpana has been a student of Natraj Gopi Kishan and Pandita Uma Dogra and follows both the Jaipur and Benaras styles of Kathak. A registered examiner of the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva University, she has recently been associated to run her own center with the University. A few of her achievements and performances at dance festivals include: Art & Soul Foundation, Mumbai 2020, Indian Dance Festival, Colombo 2019, Mumbai Kalaghoda Festival, 2019, International Performing Arts Festival, Bhubaneshwar, 2019, Puri Beach Festival, 2016 and Italy Festival, 2015 to name a few. She has performed with her students of AMNA at several renowned events both in India and overseas.

Ms Kareena Shankta

National Swimming Champion,Achiever par excellence, Artist with a mission

Kareena Shankta is a 17 year old student. She broke the India Record in the women’s 100m Breaststroke at the Khelo India Games 2020 and was lauded by PM Narendra Modi, in his 2020 Republic Day Mann Ki Baat edition. She is a strong believer that small changes go a long way; she runs the charitable initiative- Kayasha. So far she has raised over Rs 1 Lakh in contributions from her paintings which have funded ration food distribution in the states of Jharkhand and West Bengal during the pandemic. Recently; she was awarded the American Psychological Association Special Award for her project on dyslexia diagnosis at the IRIS Fair 2021 and continues to do research in that field.

Ms. Jonaki Raghavan

Dance educationist, M.A Performing Arts

Jonaki imparts training to several students and gives Solo and Group performances in India and abroad. A few of her performances that won her accolades are: at the Rastrapati Bhavan (Delhi); London Book fair, Nehru Centre (London); World Book fair (Delhi) ; Konark Festival, Parab Festival (Odisha), Aura- Aurangabad and Kala Mahotsav. Jonaki currently teaches at the reputed Dance Institute Nalanda Nrityakala Mahavidyalaya at Mumbai. She is trained under traditional Kathak exponents of her times; Guru Malabika Mitra, Guru Madhumita Sarang, Guru Shama Bhate. Her dance exudes flawless technique,grace and subtlety. Post her Graduate degree in Commerce, she completed Masters in Performing Arts with First Class distinction.

Ms. Moli Siddharth

Founder Director - Kalaangan, Kathak Gold Medalist, National Awardee, Women’s Achievers Awardee, Curator, Judge, Panelist and Examiner

Moli Siddharth is the Founder and Director of Kalaangan school of Dance since 30 years. She has done MA (Kathak) and is a Gold Medalist too. She has won the National Award (Dance) Madhya Pradesh in 2013 and the Women’s Achievers Award, 2018. She has received training from Gurus like Padmashree Smt. Damayanti Joshi, Pandit Birju Maharaj, to name a few. Moli is privileged to have been a Curator for ‘Nazaaqat’ - All India Dance Festival. She has been a Convenor for ‘Parampara’ workshops. She has worked as an Examiner, Judge, Expert Panelist on various National and International platforms. Oindrila Das has followed her mother's footsteps and achieved a Masters Diploma in Kathak,and an International Certificate in Dance Studies (Level 5) (CID) UNESCO. Moli Siddharth and Oindrila have garnered appreciation through memorable performances in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bhopal and Nagpur and have been well appreciated and applauded at Switzerland, Italy Prague, and Greece

Ms. Shubhra Agnihotri

Gifted Artist, Accomplished Vocalist, Dedicated Multi-Instrumentalist, Learned Indian Classical Musician,Sports Physiotherapist.

Ms Shubhra Agnihotri is an artist bestowed with an eternal love and complete passion for music. She started learning music at the age of 3 from her grandfather Lt. Shri. Ramchandra Agnihotri who discovered gifted with the art of converting any tune into classical swaras at the mere age of 2.5years. Shubhra has groomed herself with great dedication and discipline in music and has learned light music under the guidance of her father Mr Santosh Agnihotri. She can play instruments such as guitar and ukulele which adds on to her singing talent. She has done her ‘Vishaarad’ in Indian Classical Music from Gandharva University. Her melodious voice has made her a You Tube sensation.She is currently pursuing Masters in Sports Physiotherapy and has a liking towards making it her profession.
