She is a Public Health Physician, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with over 35 years of experience in South Asia, Eastern Africa and the United Kingdom.She has served as a President of the Nepal Medical Association as well as the South Asian Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was also the Chair of the Education Committee of the Asia Oceana Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the holder of many national and international awards including woman of the year from FIGO for her contributions to women’s health.She has served in the public sector as the Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population in Nepal. Most recently, she published her book titled ‘Singha Durbar ko ghumne mech’.Currently she is the Principal of National Medical College.
