In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adah Parris

Co-founder of Ism.Earth, Now-ist, Artist, Activist

An enthusiastic curator of people, patterns and stories, her current interest lies in the anatomy of transformation and innovation. Her work sits at intersection of ancient wisdom, living systems and indigenous community practices, digital and emerging technologies. She Is co-Founder of Ism.Earth and Artist in Residence at SBCAST (Santa Barbara Centre for Art Science and Technology). She was recently an Artist in Residence at The Design Science Studio (with the Buckminster Fuller Institute) and the Living Collaboratory a partnership between the Design Science Studio and the Emergent Media Lab at The University of California Irvine. In 2020, Adah was long-listed as one of the Most Influential Women in UK Technology. In 2019, she was recognised as one of TED Talks Global Emerging Innovators. In 2018, she was recognised as one of the UK’s Top 100 Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Leaders in Technology.

Boris Acket

Contemporary artist, Composer & Director

Boris Acket is a contemporary artist, composer & director who specialized in multidisciplinary projects within music, installation art, performance & film. Acket operates as a conductor of creative processes, residing within complex systems in which artist, space & medium connect as one. His works have been presented at NXT Museum, Lowlands, STRP, Holland Festival, Het Hem, Amsterdam Dance Event, De School, Down The Rabbit Hole, Wildeburg, Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Van Gogh Museum, Frame Lab & DGTL Festival and featured on Designboom, Resident Advisor, NRC, Volkskrant, Parool, Subbacultcha and 3voor12. Acket is one half of Working Titles, whose 2019 LP De Tuin is composed of improvisations that are carefully cut and reconfigured into a tapestry of meditative sonic vignettes. He is also part of the Dutch artist collective De Lichting.

The Wong Janice is a sound meditation guide and cellist based in Amsterdam in The Netherlands helping millions of people feel more centred and calm through deep ambient cello meditation music, online courses and virtual cello meditation sessions.

Jazzy Taihuttu

Head of education & Film teacher

Jazzy Taihuttu has a background in art and film education and works as a film teacher at an Amsterdam based High School: Het 4e Gymnasium. In addition to her teaching position, Jazzy works on educational projects, usually about the colonial past and its impact on our current society. For the film De Oost (directed by Jim Taihuttu, 2021) she is working as Head of Education and developed school material for the educational project De Wereld van de Oost (The World of the East). Jazzy lived and worked in Indonesia for a longer period of time to really dive into the culture, history of the country and the past colonial stories.

Marcel Levi

Professor of Medicine and Consultant in Acute Medicine and Haematology

Marcel Levi is a Professor of Medicine at Amsterdam University Medical Center/University of Amsterdam and University College London. He is a consultant in Acute Medicine and Haematology and focuses on coagulation, thrombosis, and vascular disease. In the last 15 years, he was Chief Executive of the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam and of University College London Hospitals. Earlier he worked at the University of Perugia (Italy), in Oxford (UK) and the Center for Transgene Technology and Gene therapy of the University of Leuven, Belgium. He has published more than 750 articles in scientific journals and has been awarded a number of international research awards. He is currently chairman or board member of several national and international health and research organisations and charities. Since April 2021 he is president of the Dutch National Research Council.

Naomie Pieter

Artist and black queer activist

Intersectional queer and anti-racist activist Naomie Pieter is the founder of ‘ Pon Di Pride’ and the co-founder of ‘Black Queer & Trans Resistance NL’, as well as the founder of Black Pride NL. She won the Roze Lieverdje award 2020, The Winq Inspiration Award 2021 and the Jos Brink Award 2021 for her work within the LGBTQIA+ community and she also won the Pax Peace Award 2020. Having completed her training as a choreographer at Amsterdam’s Academy of Theatre and Dance, Naomie mixes the organisation of protest rallies and designing choreographies effortlessly. “Protest is a social choreography. We’re organizing body, space and time. Who walks upfront, what are the visuals, what is the stage?” She became the new chairwoman of Women’s March NL.

Noah Tucker

Chef and Entrepreneur

A native New Yorker, now residing in Amsterdam for the last 14 yrs , Noah knew he wanted to be a chef from the age of six. Always Focused on becoming a restaurant owner hospitality entrepreneur. Noah was a veteran of the US Navy and a graduate of the culinary institute of America. After military and school, he has travelled the globe from Japan to Europe acquiring and honing his skill set. But working in New York, Japan and California were where he really mastered his art, learning and developing his palate in leading Michelin kitchens, before moving to Amsterdam where he has owned, created and developed a number of original concepts including their most ambitious one, high Cuisine!!!
