Theme: Against All Odds

TEDxHansrajCollege is an initiative that has evolved from a desire, the desire of spreading tales and ideas to foster learning and wonder, to ingrain a sparkle, and to provoke conversations that matter.

TEDxHansrajCollege acted as a platform for speakers to tell the world how they maneuvered through all the storms in their lives, beating the challenges that came their way.

Our theme for the year 2021 is, "Against All Odds". This belief essentially teaches fortitude and perseverance in the face of adversity and instills grit and determination, to believe in yourself and have the confidence that you can compete against all odds.

Dipa Karmakar

Dipa Karmakar became the first Indian woman to win a Commonwealth Games gymnastics medal in 2014 and to get qualified for the Olympics in 2016. She made India proud by being one of the only five women in the world to successfully perform ‘Produnova-the vault of death’ which according to her is a stand for gender equality. Recipient of many coveted awards like the Padma Shri and Arjuna Award.

She plays the guitar and the ukulele and writes songs in both English and Hindi. For Tanmaya, Music is thoughts and emotions intertwined with the sounds of instruments and her surroundings. Her songwriting is often inspired by her own experiences. She writes about how she has felt in relationships and her everyday life. Starting her journey almost 3 years ago – penning down songs and melodies, she recorded her compositions on her phone in her bedroom and uploaded them regularly on Soundcloud.
