In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Avani Dalal

Co-Founder of Spark-A-Change Foundation

An electronic engineer by profession, and after having dabbled in teaching, graphic designing, animation, a bit of political activism, Ms. Avani Dalal found her calling in education for the children belonging to the low-income group; a cause to which she has been wedded for the past 8 years. She is the co-founder trustee of Spark-A-Change Foundation- a 5 year old Mumbai-based NGO which aims to make changes at the grass-root level by bridging learning gaps among school going children from low-income communities with the help of over 60 committed volunteers.

Dawn Cordo

Professional Musician and Music Educator

Dawn Cordo is a professional musician who worked on several projects in the music industry in Mumbai before studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After completing her studies she returned to Mumbai to work on her music education program called The Gleehive Music Program, to help hone the skills of the next generation. Dawn also continues her professional work, as music director, arranger and composer for varying projects, from theatre and the performing arts to studio work.

Kartik Desai

Kartik, born in Delhi and raised in Geneva and New York, leads Asha Impact, an impact investing and policy advocacy platform for major Indian business leaders, UHNIs and philanthropists to invest in scalable, for-profit social enterprises. A Wharton and Columbia University graduate who has worked with the UNDP and Merrill Lynch, he is considering one of the pioneers of the impact financing ecosystem in India, having worked at the three major impact funds, judging a reality TV show on impact investing, launching a social enterprise to help underprivileged youth, representing 40+ major investors as board member of the industry association, writing several op-eds and advising the government on development finance policy issues.

Ms. Shivani is the founder of the renowned “Expresso Talk”, an organization which provides life and relationship counselling and gives succor and strength to those who have been emotionally shattered.
