Museums and Heritage Education Profesional
Alisha Sadikot is an independent museums, heritage and art educator who uses walks as a tool to encourage creative and critical engagement with Mumbai’s urban histories, public spaces and streets, art, museum and heritage collections. Her practice focuses on audience building and broadening art, museum and heritage conversations through The Inheritage Project (2015) and Art Walks Mumbai (cofounded in 2017). Formerly Alisha was Curator for Education at the Dr Bhau Daji Lad Museum from 2012 - 2015. Alisha has a Masters in the History of Art from
SOAS, London and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Heritage and Museum Education and Interpretation from Newcastle University.
Arjun Pawar
Student Speaker
Arjun Pawar is currently studying in the 12th grade IB Programme at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School. He is our student speaker who will be analysing the relationship between STEM and Linguistics. Arjun is fluent in three languages and started a unique journey learning the Urdu script Nastaleeq a few years ago. His deep interest for languages led him to study the effect language can have on various other fields, especially STEM subjects as a student of that in the IBDP. Arjun’s experience learning Nastaleeq as a 21st century school student has provided him a unique perspective on the role of language on modern areas of research in Science and Mathematics.
Faye D'Souza
Journalist and Television News Anchor
Faye D’Souza is an award winning journalist, who has changed the way news is covered on Indian Television by focusing the audience’s attention on the issues that matter to the citizens rather than those that fuel the emotions of partisan debates. Faye’s calm, researched style of hosting news shows prioritises information over opinion.
Her focus on accountability of government, responsible taxation, safety of women and children, education, health and urban development has also resulted in several policy changes that have proven that a journalist can still bring about improvements in the status quo.
Faye is the journalist of the millennials – young, fresh and brutally honest.
Faye was the youngest woman journalist in India to have led a national news channel as its Executive Editor. Post her exit from television, Faye has begun her entrepreneurial journey and will soon launch her own digital news platform -targeted at the young, urban Indian audience.
R Umamaheshwaram
Mr. R Umamaheswaran is a Distinguished Scientist and Scientific Secretary to the Indian Space Research Organisation. He has been the Chief Designer (Integration) of major subassemblies including Equipment Bay of the Launch vehicle. Many of the mission critical circuits residing in the vehicle including the entire pyro chain for all the three launch vehicles have been designed by him. Over the years, he has evolved as a domain expert in the field of system electrical integration, checkout, ground station and avionics. He has successfully led many ISRO projects such as the GSLV and has received many awards for his contributions, He is the life member of Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), Systems Society of India (SSI), and Indian Society for Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (ISAMPE).
Ritu Dalmia
Ritu Dalmia is a celebrity chef and restaurateur. She co-founded famed Italian restaurant Diva in Delhi among many others. She is also a prominent LGBTQ+ rights activist who famously filed a petition along with five other people in the Supreme Court of India, challenging Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. She has hosted her own TV show “Italian Khana” on NDTV Good Times which won numerous awards and published a book of the same name.
Sunil Chhetri
Captain of the Indian Football Team
The Captain and striker of the Indian national team and Bengaluru FC, Mr. Sunil Chhetri is a highly decorated international footballer. He is the most-capped player and the all-time top goal scorer for the Indian team, and remains a rank above Messi as the second-highest ranked player in the list of active international scorers, with 72 goals, as of May 2020. In domestic leagues, he was recognised as the ‘Hero of the League’ in the 2017-18 edition and the ‘AIFF Player of the Year’ for 2017. The next season, Chhetri added yet another feather to his cap as he led his team to the Hero ISL 2018-19 trophy.

Swapneil Parikh
Practicing Physician, Co-Founder of a Healthcare Start-Up and Author
Swapneil Parikh is a practising physician in Mumbai and co-founder of DIY.health, an AI-powered health tech startup. He specialises in internal medicine, is a clinical researcher while working on his startup. He has, along with Director of Medical Research at Jaslok Hospital Dr Rajesh Parikh, and clinical psychologist Maherra Desai, authored a book, ‘The Coronavirus: What You Need To Know About The Global Pandemic.’ The book, while focusing on COVID-19, introduces the reader to microbiology, virology, immunology and epidemiology. It tells the story of what got us here and where this pandemic might take us.
