Join GLOW (Global Leadership of Women) for a day of inspiration, discussion, and connection as Auburn University hosts its first TEDxAuburnUniversityWomen event. TEDxAuburnUniversityWomen will webcast speakers from around the world to Auburn to share insights and foster discussion.
This year speaker’s include: Jane Fonda, Lamis Lein- the women who heads an all-female bomb-disposal unit in Lenbanaon, Barbara Walters, Gloria Steinem, Shamila Kohestani – captain of Afghanistan’s first National Women’s Football Team, Tan Le - a Vietnam refugee and tech entrepreneur, Jennifer Newsom-Documentatrian, Mary Catherine Bateson – Cultural Anthropologist, Dr. Oz, and Tavi Gevinson – fashion icon.
Stay all day or attend a portion of the speakers. The event will be organized around the following themes:
1pm Rebirth
Rebirth and how women compose and recompose their lives, especially in life’s ‘third-act’ as women continue to live better, longer
2pm Resilience
Resilience and the way women regroup, rebound, and rebuild after experiencing setbacks or loss, always moving forward
3pm Relationships
Relationships and the ties that bind us—to each other, to our communities, and to our most important institutions
4pm Reimagine
Reimagine and the new way women and men are viewing and shaping our world through science, art, and politics
