Bertram Peterson
Engineer
Bertram is a tree-hugging, dog-petting, book-devouring, lead-by-example optimist, in love with renewable energy and cycling. He holds a bachelor’s in sustainability engineering from Tec de Monterrey, an energy administration degree from EGADE Business School, and a master’s degree in renewable energy from the Delft University of Technology.
He’s also the youngest NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional in Mexico. After working for several years as a PV designer, he signed up to help the grid-restoration efforts following Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Those experiences reinforced his belief that renewables are the path forward, which is why he’s dedicated to accelerating the transition towards safer, cleaner, and more resilient sources of energy. When not hiking or training for his next triathlon, Bertram can usually be found in his natural habitat; a pet-friendly café with a view.

As for my achievements, I have won the speech contest at my school two years in a row and landed third place in the contest against students from other local high schools. I recently participated as a delegate in a Model UN. I have had the honor of representing the school in national meetings from the pastoral group.
My main goal in life is to be happy, to be daring, to have the courage to go after what I want. I want to be surrounded by people that uplift me and motivate me, to give back to my community and the people that I love.

Since a young age, English has been a core aspect of my academic life, eventually, it has allowed me to have some of the most amazing experiences in my life.
I took a leap of faith studied abroad for a year in a different country with a completely different culture from mine, that country was Taiwan. This shift brought about many things, it solidified my passion
and love for music at moments where I would sing for audiences, at a certain point getting paid to sing traditional Mexican songs, as well as starting to write my own songs; not only that but it also introduced me to learning languages, with the first one being Mandarin. After 8 months of
being abroad and enjoying life while relaxing for the first time in years, my time was cut short due to the ongoing pandemic.
