In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Angela Sanchez

Angela Sanchez is founder and CEO of Artyfactos, a sustainable and ethically responsible jewelry business that offers pieces made from 100 % recycled natural materials like orange peel and fruit and tree seeds. She is also CEO and co-founder of Merge-Tek – a social enterprise for construction stakeholders to discover, connect and track compliance for services from minority owned businesses. Angela has worked for CVS Health, founding and managing their Construction Solutions Team and has more than 18 years of experience in the construction industry holding management positions for multi-million-dollar projects with/for the government. She was also Program Manager for Babson Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Program for Manizales Mas, an action research project to develop the entrepreneurial capacity in Manizales, by bringing together the policies, structures, programs and climate that foster entrepreneurship. Angela is also co-founder and CEO of Consult@me, a platform that connects entrepreneurs around the world with Boston’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. Before founding Artyfactos and Merge-Tek, Angela co-founded and was the CFO/COO of Type-U, a platform that helps improve the lifestyle of people with diabetes. Born in Bogota, Colombia, Angela holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Javeriana University and a MBA from Babson College. She is also a Certified Zumba Instructor, an energetic mother of three wonderful girls, and a fun wife.

Sushil Bhatia

Sushil Bhatia is a global innovator/ entrepreneur. He has several patents and has invented/innovated many products like glue stic, convention badges, labels, software, packaging stampers as well as disruptive technology of decopier. He is a founder of several companies in the field of Software, packaging products and office products. Presently he is the President/CEO of JMD Manufacturing Inc in Framingham, MA (USA). www.jmdmfg.com He is also a professor and Executive in Residence in Sawyer Business School, Suffolk University in Boston, MA where he teaches Innovation, Entrepreneurship, new product development, Happiness and courses on business foundation, creating and growing a business and writing effective business plans. He has been interviewed on ABC’s Good Morning America, NBC’s TODAY show , CNN and has been written up in many global publications like The Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Economic Times etc. His TED talks “Innovation and the Art of Laughter” are available on youtube.

Tim Phillips

Tim Phillips is the founder and CEO of Beyond Conflict. Using the unique approach of shared experience, Phillips has helped catalyze the peace and reconciliation processes in several nations, including Northern Ireland, El Salvador, and South Africa. He has advised the United Nations, the US Department of State, and the Council of Europe and has been a frequent speaker in national and international forums, including the Council on Foreign Relations and the US Congress. In recent years, Phillips has led Beyond Conflict’s work with scientists and community leaders to apply lessons from brain and behavioral science to address a range of challenges, including toxic polarization, racism, dehumanization, and conflict.
