In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Philipp Seegerer

Doctoral researcher in machine learning in medicine, AI scientist for a startup in the field of computational pathology

Philipp Seegerer received a Bachelor's degree in medical engineering and a Master's degree in medical image and data processing from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. During his studies he was a working student and intern for Siemens Healthcare in Erlangen and Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton, New Jersey, where he could gain first experience in biophysical modeling of the heart and computer-aided diagnosis for breast cancer imaging. He is currently a doctoral researcher at the Machine Learning Lab of TU Berlin and an AI scientist at Aignostics, a Berlin-based startup in the field of computational pathology. His research interests and scientific publications include the application of machine learning to histopathology and epigenetics, neural network compression and interpretable and transparent machine learning systems.
