In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alka Joshi graduated from Stanford University, and worked in advertising and marketing. She never considered becoming an author but a trip to India with her mother, years later changed all that. In 2011, she got her MFA in Creative Writing from the California College of Arts in San Francisco, California. It took 10 years, a lot of research, and many trips to India to complete her debut novel, The Henna Artist.

Dimple Jangda

Dimple Jangda is a Celebrity Ayurvedic Health Coach, Gut Health Expert and founder of Prana. Prana is an Ayurvedic Healthcare Centre and Academy for Ayurveda, that has treated patients from 49 countries and coached students from 40 countries. Dimple's vision is to make Ayurveda a preventive Healthcare Lifescience, a global phenomenon and a household practice, by simplifying and demystifying the science. Dimple has coached the likes of Dev Patel, Juhi Chawla, Anjali Tendulkar, Karan Grover, Late Sushant Singh Rajput, Keki Mistry, Azgar Patel and several PhD scholars and university professors on Ayurveda. She was a seasoned investment banker in New York City, a TV producer with CNBC-TV18, TV-reporter and even a copywriter in advertising. She eventually left Wall Street and started exploring rustic India in pursuit of the secret to happiness and health, and thus was born Prana, which means the source of life.

Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani

Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani is the Provost of HSNC University, Mumbai and Trustee HSNC Board. He is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Hiranandani Group of Companies, engaged in real estate business. He is the President of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India. He also heads a distinct Business Unit Hiranandani Communities. He is an Indian billionaire entrepreneur, and has been featured in the Forbes list of 100 richest Indians. Mr Hiranandani is on board of 17 schools including the Hiranandani Foundation School in Powai and Thane. He is the past president Maharashtra Chambers of Housing Industry; Chairman of Mumbai City, Development and Environment Committee of the Indian Merchants Chambers (I.M.C.) Mumbai, Member of the task force of the Government of India for reforms in housing and urban development and Member of the study group Slum Rehabilitation Scheme, Government of Maharashtra.

Dr. Shailesh Shrikhande

Dr. Shailesh Shrikhande is the Deputy Director at Tata Memorial Hospital. He is also the Professor and Head of the Division of Cancer and Surgery, and the Chief of GI and HPB Surgical Oncology. In 2005, he became the first Asian to be awarded the Kenneth Warren Fellowship of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA). He has been invited for over 80 lectures in India and abroad.

Tenzin Chodon

Tenzin Chodon is a cross-cultural communication coach and has worked in close association with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama as a translation-compere. She has been in the communications industry for almost a decade. In addition, she is a social worker and an activist for children of deprived communities who have no access to education and opportunities.
