Eames Demetrios

TED Speaker, TED Attendee, Kcymaerxthaere Artist, Hollywood Filmaker

Eames Demetrios wears many hats. His current large-scale project is his parallel universe, Kcymaerxthaere, a global artwork of multi-dimensional storytelling. For this he's so far installed 142 markers and historic sites in 30 countries on 6 continents. He's also made films on topics from the Modern Maya to Frank Gehry, from homelessness to legendary winemaker Peter Gago. Demetrios is best known in the design world as director of the Eames Office and authoring several design books--including An Eames Primer. He’s written 11 books altogether. Demetrios has given talks in over 50 countries, including on the mainstage of the legendary TED conference. He lives with his family in Los Angeles, California.

Kamla Bhasin

Gender Rights Developmental Feminist, Poet

Kamla Bhasin is an Indian developmental feminist activist, poet and author. Bhasin's work, that began in 1970, focuses on gender, education, human development and the media. She lives in New Delhi, India. She is best known for her work with Sangat - A Feminist Network and for her poem Kyunki main ladki hoon, mujhe padhna hai. In 1995, she recited a refurbished, feminist version of the popular poem Azadi (Freedom) in a conference. She is also the South Asia coordinator of One Billion Rising.

Lian Pin Koh

Global TED Speaker, Conservtion Scientist, Young Global Leader 2013

Lian Pin Koh (born 1976 in Singapore) is a conservation scientist based in Singapore. He is Professor of Conservation Science, Technology and Policy in the Department of Biological Sciences, and Director of the Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions at the National University of Singapore. Koh is the Founding Director of ConservationDrones.org, a non-profit organisation that seeks to introduce drone technology to conservation scientists and practitioners worldwide. He was formerly Chair of Applied Ecology and Conservation at the University of Adelaide, and Vice President of Science Partnerships and Innovation at Conservation International , a non-profit environmental organisation. Throughout his career, Koh has received multiple awards including the Australian Research Council Future Fellowship in 2014, the Swiss National Science Foundation Professorship in 2011, the ETH Fellowship in 2008, and was also named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2013.

Nirvana Chaudhary

Managing Director- CG Corp Global

Despite his family’s achievements, Nirvana Chaudhary has been no stranger to the Nepalese and global industry. He founded his own company within the CG Corp Global conglomerate, CG Finco, when he was only 19-years-old and became the managing director of the Chaudhary Group before reaching 30. In 2010, Nirvana began leading CG’s philanthropic organization, Chaudhary Foundation, as one of its driving forces . Through the foundation, he is dedicated to creating socially responsible businesses and sustainably developing Nepal. He has helped to open Nepal's largest spiritual institute, Shashwat Dham, and partner with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to improve health and sanitation in Nepal. Furthermore, he runs his own private philanthropy initiative in the name of his parents, Binod & Sarika Chaudhary Foundation. He was a former national squash player and an avid trekker who has summited some of the tallest mountains in the world.

Sushil Koirala

Data Scientist, Public Health Expert

Sushil Koirala has 23 years of experience in Public Health; with USAID, UNDP, and NGOs in HIV, Infectious Diseases, and TB programs. He has also spent more than 10 in the Global Fund Supported country programs in Nepal, Yemen, Thailand. As a principal investigator of a regional study, Sushil has led the design and monitored the implementation of one of the largest community-based HIV studies in the region. In the last 10 years, he has worked in capacity building of community Organisations in Vietnam, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Lao PDR, and the Philippines. Sushil is currently a lead in a regional study on community quality Community-Based Quality Monitoring study of key Harm Reduction Services for People Who Inject Drugs in Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Nepal, and Vietnam
