In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Andrea Walker Cummings

Andrea, a native Daytonian, is a graduate of Roosevelt High School and The Ohio State University. Retired from a 30-year technical career, Andrea devotes a major portion of her spare time fine tuning the needlecraft skills she began learning at the age of 7 from her mother. Andrea’s artwork has been included in past exhibits of Black Heritage Through Visual Rhythms, Visual Voices, Skyscrapers, and the African American Visual Artists Guild (AAVAG) of Dayton, of which she is the membership Secretary and Curator. Additionally, her work can be found in private collections across the country.
