Chuck Swoboda

Chuck Swoboda is the Innovator-in-Residence at Marquette University, president of Cape Point Advisors, and the retired chairman and CEO of Cree, Inc. He serves on several company boards and is host of the Innovators on Tap podcast and author of The Innovator’s Spirit.
At Cree, he helped lead the company from $6 million in revenue to over $1.6 billion as they started the LED Lighting Revolution that led to the obsolescence of traditional light bulbs. Chuck is a co-inventor on 25 patents covering LED and Lighting related technology.
In 2010, Chuck was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for the Carolinas. During his time as CEO, Cree was recognized as MIT Technology Review’s 50 Smartest Companies for 2014 and as one of Fast Company’s World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies in 2015.

Kyle Hagge is currently the producer of the Innovators on Tap podcast for Marquette University and the co-creator of Bridge the City Podcast, a platform focused on local action, elections, & engagement. He is a proud AmeriCorps alumni, having served with College Possible Milwaukee for two years. He is passionate about turning ideas into final products, how individuals make change in their local communities, and how to build great teams that get things done. A Minnesota native, he now calls Milwaukee home.

Lars Olson is an associate professor in the department of Biomedical Engineering at Marquette University and is a leader in the International Association of Jesuit Engineering Schools (IAJES). He founded a company, Cortina Medical Devices, LLC that makes medical equipment for developing countries.
Nadiyah Johnson
Technical Product Manager in Data Analytics at GE Healthcare
Nadiyah Johnson currently works at GE Healthcare as a Technical Product Manager in data analytics. She graduated from Marquette University with a master's degree in computational science and is currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on computational science and mental health. Her research is predominantly geared toward mobile health (mHealth). Nadiyah’s research has granted her recognition at several conferences around the globe. Her passion for diversity in STEM led her to launch a startup business- Jet Constellations, a local software company that functions to promote STEM education in Milwaukee, consult tech-oriented startups, and build a nurturing ecosystem of techies and entrepreneurs. As founder, Nadiyah aims to rebrand Milwaukee as “The Milky Way Tech Hub” - a tech hub representative of Milwaukee’s diverse population.
