Although Egypt's educational system suffers from severe drawbacks, blaming the government and its educational policies will not take us forward. To be improved, education must be tackled through many different approaches besides formal education reform. We miss what is so-called "the learning culture". We teach children that formal education is what matters and that learning is only inclusive to it. Our culture promotes the idea that in order to get a job and make a living, one has to get a college degree and that's it. Learning is a very broad concept; one does not even have to go through school in order to learn and succeed. We cannot succeed in development and reform unless we redefine education to go beyond institutions.
Through our event, we bring in Egyptians with initiatives, success stories, and inspiring ideas that are capable of getting us started. The event will host students, university professors, researchers, educators, businessmen, authors and entrepreneurs who have a unique perspective on how redefine education.
