Veronika Radobicka
Student
Veronika Radobická is 19 years old, who grew up in the Eastern European country, Slovakia. As of August 2018, she has been in Denmark for the IB Diploma program. She chose to talk about bisexuality, as she belongs to this minority. She also wanted to show her struggle, and the hatred that still prevails in her country, as homosexuality is still seen as taboo, even refusing to admit that it exists, ignoring it as a fact or even fighting against it, with no rights for registered partnership. So, seeing a homosexual couple in public is a rarity, and when it does happen, people usually stare at them, even become violent.
She also wanted to show a more liberal side of bisexuality. Before she came to Denmark, she hated herself, even afraid to see who she was. As she gradually changed and came out to her family, the fear faded. She decided to talk about it publicly to give courage to whoever finds themselves in a similar situation. If this happens, her goal for a TEDx talk will be achieved.

She used to call her adventures the ‘concept of wonder’. And later on, while studying at Ukrainian Leadership Academy, she learned about leadership, and what does it include. To her big surprise, one of the core ideas was Wondering, opening new worlds.
