In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adam Procell

President of Lime Energy

Adam Procell is President of Lime Energy, a Willdan Company. He has led the company through rapid expansion to become a clean energy leader providing innovative solutions that have unlocked the potential for energy efficiency in commercial and institutional buildings.Throughout his career with Lime, AECOM and Siemens, his work has focused on the revitalization of low income communities, green job creation and training, and corporate social responsibility, including Lime’s own employee volunteerism program. He has been active in working with public officials to develop regulations and legislation in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainability and has served on a variety of working groups, committees and boards in the areas of energy and sustainability policy. Adam is a graduate of the Industrial Distribution (now Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management) program at Clarkson University (BSID’91).

Coy Griffin

Founder of Your Own Creativity

Originally from Bronx, New York, Coy Griffin (formally known as Jamie Griffin) is a girl boss, data analyst, and the founder of the fashion technology media company, Your Own Creativity (YOC). At the age of 17, Coy created her first fashion line with a group of friends in NYC but realized she needed the business experience to expand her brand. While attending Clarkson University, she discovered her passion for data analytics and fashion. After interning for Fortune 500 companies and working for a variety of fashion-tech startups, she became an advocate for fashion technology. She has been featured in New York Fashion Week interviews and recently presented an interactive fashion installation in Accra, Ghana. Coy promotes the education of fashion technology and STEAM opportunities to underserved communities.

Jacob Torrey

Program Manager, DARPA

Mr. Jacob Torrey joined DARPA as a program manager in May 2017. His research interests focus on securing complex systems that are composed of cyber, physical, and human processes and components. Mr. Torrey joined DARPA from Assured Information Security, Inc., where he led the Denver-based Computer Architectures group in pursuing and executing cutting-edge cyber-security research efforts. Mr. Torrey has also worked extensively in the areas of hypervisor, BIOS, UEFI, and system management mode security. Mr. Torrey holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science in computer science from Clarkson University. He has multiple academic publications, has presented at a number of international security conferences, including Black Hat USA, TROOPERS, and INFILTRATE. Mr. Torrey also holds three patents in the areas of trusted computing and protected execution.

Luciana Echazú

Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the Reh School of Business and an Associate Professor of Economics

Luciana Echazú is the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the Reh School of Business and an Associate Professor of economics. Her research focuses on the examination of strategic behavior in different settings. She has published several articles in highly ranked peer reviewed journals. As a teacher, Echazu has received numerous awards, such as: MBA Faculty Member of the Year; inducted to Phalanx, and received the Commendable Leadership Award. She also received the Ralph Janaro Memorial Faculty Award multiple times; Outstanding Teacher award by CUSA; Respect Award; Outstanding New Teacher Award; and Inspiring Mentor Award. Last, in 2017, she received the Distinguished Teacher Award, the highest accolade a teacher can get at Clarkson University. She received her bachelor degree from Universidad del Salvador in Argentina; her MBA from East Carolina University; and her master of arts and Ph.D. in economics from University of Memphis.

Rajan Raghavan

CEO and co-founder of The Fabric

Rajan Raghavan is CEO and co-founder of The Fabric, a startup co-creation foundry, and accelerator. He actively collaborates with entrepreneurs to help create and launch companies in the cloud and network infrastructure space. At The Fabric, where along with Fabric team and entrepreneurs, Rajan has co-created 12 portfolio companies, of which 3 have been acquired (VeloCloud by VMware, Perspica by Cisco, Appcito by A10 Networks). Prior to The Fabric, Rajan has been an entrepreneur for over three decades and has founded several companies, including Ankeena Networks (acquired by Juniper), Mediaway, Virtual Chips (acquired by Phoenix Technologies), RealChip Communications, Xambala (acquired by Final, Israel). He is also the founding advisor and on the board of FrontdeskAI. Rajan currently serves on the boards of companies in the cloud, IoT, and network infrastructure: IoTium, Spanugo, Mesh7, OpsCruise, Cloudbrink, Copperwire. He is also on the board of trustees at Clarkson University.
