Chris Shinkle

Director of Innovation

Chris is a practitioner and maker. As a thought leader, He continually initiates new ideas and improvements at SEP. His experience comes from building products with many clients across a variety of industries. As SEPʼs Director of Innovation, Chris helps SEP engineers and clients delivery better products. Chris speaks at conferences across the U.S. promoting Agile, Lean/Kanban, Product Management, and Design Thinking. Chris was an inaugural members of Indiana's Techpoint Tech 25.

Christine Mannina

Homicide Detective

Detective Christine Mannina had one of the highest solve rates in America. A 25 year veteran of The Indianapolis Police Department she has investigated over 700 cases including homicide, robbery, domestic violence, and undercover work. Christine is the recipient of the Community Hero and Humanitarian Award along with Detective of the year. Despite having witnessed the worst of humanity, she still believes in the fundamental goodness of people.

Ed Carpenter

IndyCar Driver and Team Owner

Only one individual in the NTT IndyCar Series handles both the responsibility of driving a racecar and owning a team: Ed Carpenter. Vastly experienced, 2020 will be Carpenter’s 18th season. The 38-year-old now competes exclusively in the oval events and has 22 Top 10s since starting his team. A hometown favorite, the Butler graduate has started on the front row of the Indianapolis 500 five of the past seven years.

Emily Munson

Lawyer, Disability Advocate

Emily Munson is an Indianapolis attorney with a passion for disability rights and health law. Currently, she leads the employment practice group at Indiana Disability Rights, working on both litigation and systemic advocacy projects. Prior to that, Munson was an attorney and administrative law judge for Indiana's Family & Social Services administration. In her spare time, Munson enjoys playing power soccer (in a specialized wheelchair) and kicking butt in board games!

Joshua Thompson

Classically Trained Pianist

Joshua is a classical pianist and artistic director, who exclusively programs and performs masterworks written by composers of African descent. Joshua’s first artistic production, “Village Voices: Notes from the Griot” had its world premiere at Newfields in January 2018 and continues to run on stages and schools throughout the Indianapolis area. Thompson is the 2019 Performer in Residence for Eskenazi Health. Recently named one of the Robert D. Beckmann Jr Emerging Artist Fellowship winners for 2020, Thompson will travel to Boston and work with the Berklee School of Music to study cultural through-lines in music and history. His TEDxIndianapolis performance will share his perspective on our theme of sight through classical piano while being accompanied by an interpretive ballet performance. Marisa Kwiatkowski

Investigative Journalist

Marisa Kwiatkowski is an investigative reporter for USA TODAY. She has handled investigations relating to social services and welfare issues. Marisa has earned more than 50 journalism awards, including the Louis M. Lyons Award for Conscience and Integrity in Journalism, IRE's Tom Renner Award, a Sigma Delta Chi Award in public service and the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. Prior to USA TODAY, Marisa worked for media outlets in Indiana, South Carolina and Michigan.

Max Jacobo Moreno-Madrinan

Associate Professor of Environmental Health Sciences, IUPUI

Born and raised in Colombia, Dr. Max Jacobo Moreno-Madriñán is an associate professor in the Department of Environmental Health Science within the Fairbanks School of Public Health at IUPUI. His research applies geographical information systems and remote sensing technology to solve water-related public health problems. He is working to understand the relationship between surface water quality and land use, as well as the influencing mechanisms of cultural and physical environmental determinants of water-related vector-transmitted diseases.

Noah Malone

Paralympic Athlete

Noah Malone is a high school senior and All-American track sprinter at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Indiana. Noah is also a member of the US National Paralympic Team for Track and Field and has competed internationally in Switzerland and Peru. Noah became legally blind in 8th grade after developing Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy, which is a rare genetic disorder that causes loss of central vision. Noah has an 11-year old sister, Zion, and his parents, Kyle Malone and LaTasha Sturdivant are his biggest fans!

Shreyas Sen

Assistant Professor in ECE, Purdue University, Inventor

Shreyas Sen is an Assistant Professor in ECE, Purdue University and the inventor of the Electro-Quasistatic Human Body Communication, for which is the recipient of the MIT Technology Review top-10 Indian Inventor Worldwide under 35 (MIT TR35 India) Award. Dr. Sen’s current research interests span circuits/systems for Internet of Things (IoT), Biomedical and Security, for which he has been involved in raising over $14M research grants from government and industry. Dr. Sen is a recipient of the AFOSR Young Investigator Award, NSF CRII Award and Google Faculty Research Award.

The Brothers Footman

Performers

Brothers Dikembe, Gerald (G), Micah (Sauce), and Joshua (Bubby) Footman make up the band The Brothers Footman. The group's musical talents have grown since childhood. Today, the brothers are determined to break down musical barriers with a distinctive sound they like to call "Summa Music."

Vajaun Savage

Dancer

VaJaun "Vae" Savage is a dancer accompanying Joshua Thompson in his performance. VaJaun's focus as a ballerina is putting the art of ballet in front of girls of color. Like Joshua, she didn't see others like her as she trained to dance, so she has directed her efforts to being a visual representation to other girls of color to demonstrate they can see it and they can be it.
